| March 13, 2024 big unit | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Tournament technology I wondering why Ssusa doesn’t have the technology to post the team scores and brackets on line after each game or each day ?? A bunch of other organizations are capable of doing this , maybe Ssusa should look into upgrading there system of reporting brackets and game schedules. We are in 2024 and technology is at its best. Since you have increased your tournament fees maybe you could up grade your system to provide the information to all participating teams in the tournaments. |
| Sept. 22, 2023 big unit | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Batter out of the box First of all SSUSA representatives should act a little more professional when addressing the teams concerns about the batter box issues at the big league dreams complex we are not making jokes about this issue. The umpires were all saying the same thing about enforcing the batter box rule of stepping out of the box , this only happens at the BLD complex not at the other complex,i recently played at the BLD in Vegas and realized that there was one field ( Yankees)where the plate was set back further than the the other fields which I didn’t see one call for being out of box on that field. Why was this plate set back further than the other fields or was the box made bigger ??? All plates and batters boxes should be the same at all fields no exceptions ! If they are not all the same than there should be an exception in place for all fields. The problem is that the plate was never intended to be called a strike when we were playing young guy ball which all seniors have played. Now that the organization have decided to make the plate a strike ,the organization will have to take this in consideration and give some leniency since we now have to deal with the plate being a strike and have to protect the front of the plate , the only way to do this is to move forward in the box so we can protect plate since it now is a strike. Instead of being a ball as it was when we all starting playing this game. I know Ssusa isn’t going to like this but ISSA states you must have 1 foot in box. This has been an ongoing issue at this complex (BLD)since i have been playing senior ball, i really feel this should be dealt with in a professional manner asap not wait til the winter meetings or the rule change committee in December. This isn’t the first time teams have been concerned about this and SSUSA knows about this issue, but they want us to attend or write in comments in a email which is a way to push this issue off til then.we pay a lot money to attend these tournaments for which we should get professional representation from the governing body for issues that are concerning to all the teams. |
| April 28, 2021 big unit | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Maryland Classic Apr 30-May2 I have to say i on a roll this morning here is another point that is also crazy we played in Westminster on April 10 & 11 played 2 bracket games on Saturday and got rained out on Sunday. Ok got email about the make up for that tournament with dates and a 25.00 fee are you guys serious about this you take our money (475.00) for a 4 game guarantee,we only play 2 game and let me get this correct and now you want to charge me more money to come to the re schedule tournaments !!! The way i see it is you owe us a re-fund like half of the entry (475.00) like ( 237.50) we only play 2 games. You saved money by not playing on Sunday didn’t have to pay umps !! And so on ! SSUSA is crazy with this nonsense. |

The cut off date was April 17th it takes 12 days to make a schedule !!!! You know some guys have make plans with there family in mind !! And not all of us live around the corner from the fields !! |
| April 30, 2019 big unit | Topic: Bats Discussion: Miken bats return policy I called miken in regards to a problem with my senior bat that broke at the handle( like 6 inches from the knob where you hands hold the bat) the women on the phone told me the bat is a no warranty bat, i said yes you are correct but the bat broke at the handle ! Than she said it again it's a no warranty bat. So i said it's not normal for a bat to break at the handle must be a manufacturer defect ! She said no it happens and because its a no warranty it's not covered !! Unbelievable !!!! Wait it gets better on monday i went and played league ball and i broke my DC 41 bat, so i get my receipt and i call in to get a RA # the women on the phone ask me a bunch of questions than we get to the bar code , so the bar code numbers are worn off i can't read all of them, she than asked me if i had my warranty card, i said i don't remember where i put it , she than say O well you need that card to get a warranty replacement !! I said really i have the receipt that shows i paid for this bat ! She tells me that i need the bar code numbers i told her again they are worn off and i can't find the card !! She says without that there's nothing i can do !!! Unbelievable !! I have come to the conclusion that miken will do anything they can not to honor there warranty ! Why offer a warranty when you have no plans on honoring the warranty !! This the last time i buy a bat from miken !! They lost a good customer! Funny thing is i have the receipt !! That alone should be enough ! I will be following up with the better business bureau in Minnesota !! |
| May 31, 2018 big unit | Topic: Bats Discussion: Miken bats return policy mck 71 I don't find anything that you said to be offencive at all, I get a kick out all the responses that Dave and Tim come up with.it really just shows how unprofessional the two of them are, they act like ever thing they do is always correct, and there are no flaws in ssusa policies ! lets face it there are always things that can be improved in any system. instead of acknowledging that there are things that ssusa can improve on they want to come back at me with there class clown remarks!!! I love IT !!!! by the way Dave I do play more SPA and ISSSA !!!! PACO 12 don't be made at Dave he's just a class clown !!!! |
| May 28, 2018 big unit | Topic: Bats Discussion: Miken bats return policy Well tim every time i play SPA and ISSSA they have the brackets and start times out 10 days before the tournament starts,not 3 days prior to the start of the tournament.strictly my opinion here but maybe ssusa should hire the person that does there scheduling so you won't have this problem !!!! | May 28, 2018 big unit | Topic: Bats Discussion: Miken bats return policy Hey dave the only comedian is you and ssusa,you always find a way to justify everything this organization does.all we would like to know is when our division starts so we can make the arrangements to get a hotel for friday night or drive down on Saturday morning .some of us live 4 to 6 hours away ,have some considerations for the players that have to travel to get there,maybe we have to get off work early friday to travel down to play ! All we ask for is INFORMATION !!!!! |

| May 20, 2018 big unit | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Loudon first off there is not much I can say that hasn't been said already, we should have never been told to play on these fields in the condition that they were in but the ssusa director told us we would forfeit the game and go straight to the looser bracket, and as a result of us playing we had 2 guys get hurt 1 out for the rest of this year and the other out for a month or so ,we had to pull out of the tournament because of the injuries to our players. ssusa doesn't care about the players SAFETY at all,its all about the $$$$$$$$ to them !!!!!. this is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable !!!!! I can tell you one thing for sure if they don't give us a credit towards a future tournament we are not going to play in anymore of there tournaments !!! |
| April 13, 2018 big unit | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: tournament brackets why does it take so long for ssusa to put the brackets out, this is ridiculous!!!!! they only have 50 teams in this tournaments, I only live 3 hours from VA Beach trying to determine weather I have to come down on Thursday night or Friday morning.i call they tell me to be ready to play at 8am,the last time I went to ssusa tournament we didn't play til 4pm,they have no consideration at all for the senior players !!! this why we only play a couple ssusa tournament a year so we can goto vegas. don't they ever wonder why isssa has 120 team in there tournaments !!! |

| April 4, 2016 big unit | Topic: Bats Discussion: Rocket Launcher I have to agree with mark 44 the rocket launcher bat is the best bat I have ever swung out of the wrapper, this bat will be the best bat out for senior softball this year !!!! I just came back from the tournament in manassas,va and I used this bat there all weekend !!! this bat is the real deal !!! if your not swinging one of these bats in senior softball you are cheating your self !!! this bat is real good out of wrapper and only gets better as you use it ,I had 50 swings on it in a cage before I used it in Virginia and let me tell you my first at bat I drove a line drive off the fence (300ft)in about 1.5 seconds like a rocket !!! at that point I was very impressed with the bat.as the tournament went on the bat got hotter and hotter !! WOW WHAT A BAT !!! I was so impressed I called and ordered 3 more of them just for me !!!!! |
| July 11, 2014 big unit | Topic: Bats Discussion: new senior bat the NIGHTMARE had the opportunity to go with some friends and hit this bat, I have to tell you that this bat is as good as any of the top bats in senior softball !! the performance was a 10+ ,the sweet spot is 10,the feel is a 10,but the best thing about this bat is not only do you get the great performance!,but also the best durability of any senior bat out !!! I have to tell you we hit some bombs with this bat, balls we flying 375ft to 400ft some in the 425ft 430ft range and some screaming line drives ,we were hitting on a field that was 320ft all the way around. the bats that we tested had 1200 hits on them before we started hitting, all the guys doing the testing were all 6'tall plus and weighted 240 to 285 !! we hit 3 rounds of 40 balls each 6 guys =720 more swing on the bat and as I looked at the bat when we were done the bat had no cracks, no stress webbing, no rattles, no paint chipping!! WOW !! I have to say I was very impressed with this bat, this will be the only bat in my bag cant wait to get one !!!!!! |

I swing the dirty in tournaments and by far its a way better bat than the ambush !!!! hands down.... I have tried the ambush,not bad but to me doesn't compare to the dirty!!!! my friend swings it in FHC and kills the ball with it!!!the ambush reminds of the black centenarian ! put them side by side there are close!!! think maybe alan trying to sell bats !! |

| April 29, 2013 big unit | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Greenville tournament Freedom Ranch/Cross Cut/MDM inc/GAP sports won the 50+AAA tournament in greenville 2nd place Carolina A's out of Concord,NC not sure who was 3rd or 4th !! congrats to both teams !!! these two teams played there asses off in both games with great hitting and great defence but freedom ranch/cross cut /mdm inc/gap sports came out on top both games !!!!! a special thanks to the ground crew in greenville for keeping the fields in best playing condition as possible also the umps did a great job all day !!! also would like to thank our new sponsor jim phillps owner Cross Cut as a sponsor/player for 2013 season !!! great job !!! god bless !!! |
