I am all for doing what is safety for all players, so I will apologize in advance for throwing a bit of "devil's advocate" in here.

I will start by saying, I like playing at night for a number of reasons, its a little cooler, I hate the smell of sunscreen and for some silly reason I hit better at night, BUT:

Things to consider:

1. I know for me, when playing the field, I don't see the ball as well at night as I do during the day. I am sure that there are many others that have the same issue due to inconsistency of lighting at the fields. Not bagging on them, but it happens.

2. Assuming the fields are available, and we start at 6:00 pm, who will play the games at Midnight? Based on the small field of teams at BLD Cathedral City the last game started at 2:30 pm. That equates to 12:00 am start time.

If there is a way to make it work, I am all for it. As for me, thought my guys complain a little, this is why I bring 14 players. People may not admit it, but they need a rest.

On a side note, I am glad to hear that the player from Riptide is going to make it. We were playing on Fenway at the time it happened, and it was a very ominous feeling to stop play as they drove the ambulance across our field.

Just my thoughts on the playing at night. Good luck with your survey.

Good player, consistent hitter, great attitude, constant hustle.

Even a better person.

Phillip will be an asset to any team that picks him up.

C'mon guys.... Be Nice.

Patrick is a good guy who tried channels.

But he is a little handcuffed in that his employer doesn't allow him to use his phone during normal business hours. Perhaps an accommodation can be made to help him out.

Discussion: Price Went Up? Worlds

Actually, most qualifiers increased in price this year between 4% and 8% over last years prices.

But at the same time, most municipalities at least in California have raised their field rental fees due to cost of labor, fuel, insurance, etc...

Even Big League Dreams raised their entry fees from $3 per person to $5 per person.

Worlds last year was $695, so its only a 7.2% increase. Which I think is the first increase since 2014. ( I could be wrong on that one. )

Discussion: New team division drop process

Word of advice, having lived through this process...

To answer #3...

Once you are dropped back, you can't add ANY players from a higher rating for 1 year, meaning you don't have 3 chips.

I.E. If you are dropping from 50AAA to 50AA ( we did this ), I don't have access to 3 50AAA chips. If we need players, we access 55AAA or 60M players.

If you have players that carry multiple ratings across different age brackets, you may also lose access to those players.

Hope this helps...

Kiko34,

Not to be a dark cloud... but if you are looking to play 50's, you are not eligible until Winter Worlds in November ( or any other 2017 roster event).

In order to qualify for 50's you have to turn 50 prior to December of the season in which you want to play.

Do you already have 3 55M chips on your team? If so, then the 50M is the 4th chip.

I have run into the same issues as well, with a player carrying a rating. But they players carry the rating that they had when they stopped playing SSUSA, the two year clock to be able to appeal a rating stops when they player stops playing.

( we had a player that played with us, stopping in 2014 when we were still rated 50AAA, we are now rated 50AA and he can't rejoin us until next year.)

I wish you the best of luck, but the question to ask SSUSA is "who are our 55M chips already?"

Its not about 1 player, its about having 4 players at the higher rating if I understand the rules correctly.

There is an easy and safe answer. If it has the SSUSA stamp on it, its good.

I have the Combat Dirty Reloaded which is 25.5 ounces.
