Where are all the guys from the Nor Cal team that were sitting at Starbucks with us..They were totally pissed off also. They actually gave their playing time up on saturday night because of rain, so they could come back and win it on sunday......they didnt get a chance to win it , we all got our games cancelled...come on guys express your opinions

I have that same dream of winning the lottery and building an indoor facility for the winter. You ever been to the dome in flemington , nj....it is great indoor softball in the middle of the winter, they had indoor tourneys this year. The women got to hit a regular ball, the men hit a mush ball lol....My hub had a good idea, buy an old abandoned warehouse and strip it and make a softball field in it.....i like to dream

I never had this happen on the East Coast.....and we get lots of rain. I have played in Florida at Wide World of Sports and they went to a one pitch on sunday, after a whole day of rain on a saturday. Same thing in Ocean City, Maryland....rained on a saturday, went to a one pitch sunday. Our team once traveled to North Jersey and the tourney got cancelled due to rain, the director gave us free entry fee to the next tourney and a refund because we traveled 2 hours to get there, and he did not have my cell phone number to get a hold of me. I am just really mad because other teams were playing at other fields.... lets support the east coast senior tournaments....we could have played in 4 tournaments , all the money we spent going to the west coast...and i could have sponsored the team with the 800 bucks i speny...ridiculous lol

There were mens teams that were very mad also....I play in many tournaments, usssa coed and womens, asa womens and coed, and senior ball. I never had a director eliminate teams from a tourney. When they cancel they usually reschedule or give us a credit towards the next tournament. I know you cant control the weather, but you sure can try to get the fields playable or start early in the morning on the turf fields. Call the teams at night , since it was raining when we left and tell them get to the turf fields early am.....or continue to play through the nite....

I wouldnt of minded if every effort was made to let us play....when some teams are playing and some are not, there is something wrong with that....

This is my first national tournament that was advertised as a double elimination , 3 game guarantee, and it wasn't provided due to rain. If there was time to play 5 inning games to some teams, there was time to play 1 pitch games for all. There was also a short field at Centennial Park where women could have played with a home run limit, and there were no puddles on that field. I traveled from the East Coast and spent estimated 800 dollars to play. I got 4 games on saturday , 2 pool play and 2 in the double elimination. That is 200 dollars a game if you want to break it down to cost. I would have been satisfied if we got to lose our second game in the 3 game guaratee bracket. What are other players opinions on this? I played in a lot of tournaments and most go to a one pitch if a rain situation happens...or we were called late at night and started early the next morning....
