Any suggestions for a good place to take some BP next Friday morning before we
play at Desert Breeze? Looks like there are 5 soccer fields across the road.

Have not heard an explicit answer to your question but
would say no. No provision in the rule to revert to
the original Home/Visitor if the game is tied after completion of the (first) open inning.

Have heard SSUSA leadership say there can be only one
flip-flop in a game. That too would imply a no to your
question.

Discussion: Growth of the 40 division

I've been told there is a gradual but significant shift
in the 40's thinking up here in the NW. The 5 teams
now playing in our area (3 Major, 2 AAA) and attending
local SSUSA events are having a great time and they're
spreading the word. I expect we could have 10 teams
from the NW by 2015. If that trend spreads throughout
the country there could be 90 teams at Worlds in a
couple years!

So any of you 40's who frequent the message board, what
do you really like about SSUSA, beyond the obvious 5GG
and bat/ball combination?

Also, what can we do to attract the average 40's
players?

What the heck is "managage"? Hahahaha

mad dog's got it right. The "roster considerations" are
out there for all of us to read and understand, but if
you don't managage a team and you've never found your
team in this situation, of course why would you know
this. I've been close to this situation a few times and
had those conversations with SSUSA, until I was able to
clearly understand what's allowed. And of course each
case may be different and SSUSA always has some
discretion. If you want to add in a questionable
situation, they'll always let you enter, maybe at the
next higher class!

I can understand why they would do that, in that desert
climate. Here in rainy Western Washington the perfect
combination is artificial infield and natural outfield.
I much prefer that combination. I've only played
artificial outfield once, in Medford OR a few years ago,
and I can't say I liked it. Hot on the feet and the
ball runs like it's got legs!!! Good news is it's the
same for both teams, that's universal for all temps and
conditions.

Are the fields at Desert Breeze Park in Las Vegas all artificial? Looks like
it on the satellite view, no brown patches, sprinkler circles. And if so, I
bet it plays hot when it's in the 90's!

Anyone know will they allow us to hit on the soccer fields at Maidu Friday
morning before we play? Rules posted seem to be very restrictive. If not
there what about Ronald L Feist Park east of Maidu?

Saw one do this in Spokane in 2011. Corky checked it

So 55 Platinum looks like 3 Pool to 55M DE and 55M+
best 2 of 3. There are 4 teams we've never played, of
course the 2 M+ and then Avenue and R&R. Could have
played the two M's if they were AAA in 2011 or 2012.
Not sure.

This is why SSUSA umpires are instructed that all

Must be getting close on field assignments and draft schedules. SSUSA just
added another venue with 2 fields. 103 teams must have pushed the capacity!

Patiently waiting (and watching!)

Discussion: Would like names of leagues and locations that:

Olympia (WA) Senior Softball League uses standard Trump
44/375 senior ball from SSUSA - Anaconda. We do not
use screens, but we do use a middle rule. It's an out
if through the 2' x 6' pitcher's box. We had a broken
jaw in 2011, I believe it was a bad hop off the
pitching rubber, no other significant injuries. We play
on artificial turf infields in Lacey WA and use senior
bats. We now have pitching rubbers removed. We've had
40's included for a couple years and are phasing them
out. We have 50M to 60AA currently in summer session.
