Stick8 That's the call I would have made kind of a weak Ump though.

I would rather not say just cause We will have to play that team again, I will Say it was in CA. I believe the senior softball rules as well as most tourney rues state they must have numbers so they could have been disqualified for that.

Discussion: Infield Fly Rule

The infield fly rule is a judgment call, as the rule states that "The judgment of the umpire must govern" and "is in no sense to be considered an appeal play". The rule also states that "Infield Fly" shall be declared immediately upon an umpire's determination that a batted ball has become an infield fly based on the criteria described above and is solely based on the umpire's discretion. Since different umpires may have different definitions of what constitutes "ordinary effort," the rule may be applied differently depending on the umpire and game conditions.
Our Umpires will State as the batter comes to the plate the "infield fly rule is in effect" lets everybody have a heads up. Note: a line drive caught then intentionally dropped is also a judgment call by the Umpire like what happened to me last week.

Discussion: A few questions about a tourney I was in over the weekend.

I played in a small backyard tourney this past weekend and there were a few things that happened that confused me. First off there was a team I should say two teams a 50+ team and a 55+ team that were named the same had the same team name and had the same Uniforms playing in the same bracket is that ok? There was also a call that I thought was poor a player was standing outside his dugout I think there was actually 5 standing out side warm up the batter, base coach and three others there was a ball that the first baseman missed and it rolled over near the dugout opening the player standing there out side the dugout did not move and the first basemen could not get to the ball is that interference? What should have happened if it was? should the runners be able to advance? Thanks for any information you can help me with the game didn't matter for the event and I did not make a big stink about it just didn't seem right.

Discussion: Anybody try the Demarini one Senior 2013

my bigest fear is that i buy it and it breaks so by what everybody says i should be gtg. Yes i did break not only one but two Cartels 1st one lasted about two months second one a return one lasted about 75 good hits. If you look at the softballfans.com web sight I'm not the only one they did not last long for. Now maybe it is because i swing a 30oz maybe because i swing like Babe Ruth (lol) but I did break two of them and will not buy another one!

Swing, the bat i was talking about was the http://www.demarini.com/en-us/slowpitch/bats/1167598/
from Demarini web sight says it's a 2013. My bigest concern is durability. I am just turning 50 and hit hard. Like I said blew out a Cartel in 75 hits. So how did they last?

Has anyone tried it? Do you like it? Was looking at it because it is very similar to my Stadium s.one that i currently own that i like. I heard the 2012 issued one was not very durable, I had purchased a Cartel and it lasted 2 months so I'm a little leery about the One Senior.
