Discussion: How does a 55 major team who has their own 55 major division end up playing in a 50 major division

Had SSUSA forced you to play down from lack of teams in your own division, then yes I don’t have a problem spotting runs, but seeing how you requested to play in their class then you should have to play by their standards, no run spot!!!

And they wonder why teams don’t want to move up, less teams to play, and penalized by spotting runs and losing HRs, IF and when the other lower class plays you.

Discussion: How do you like the 1 n 1 count?

I can say without hesitation that speeds up the game, last year we played 11 games in 40 Majors and every game went the distance, where as I played in the 50 Majors the following week and not one of our game did. In the 40s the batter was normally swinging at the first good pitch and each AB lasted 2-3 pitches tops, in 50 the batter never took his bat off his shoulder until he had 2 strikes and each AB lasted 5-6 pitches.

I see a lot of complaining but no solutions, if you think Keith so bad then why doesn’t someone step up and take his place. Crickets!!!!

Discussion: Drum Roll...the Starting Count decision results.

yes we have played for several years now and no I didn't see anymore shots up the middle this year with the 1-1 count than I have in the past with 0-0 count. This past year with the 1-1 count NO foul the pitch count rarely went to 4 pitches per at bat in our games, generally they and us where swinging at the 2nd and sometime 3rd pitch compared to the 50s I played the week before where the pitch count was almost always 5/6 pitches. I know that don't sound like much but it does add up, like I said in my games I seen more time waited on curtesy runner exchanges. I didn't mean take away the CR all together, maybe limit it to 2 runners per inning or something of that nature.

There are batters that will not take the bat off the shoulder until the pitcher throws 2 strikes period regardless if the first 2 strikes where right down the middle, with the 1-1 count with no foul the batter will most likely swing at the first good pitch he sees. We ( Quick Roofing ) played 10 games in Vegas, scoring an average of 55 runs a game between us and our opponent and ever game went the full 7 innings, I believe the no foul is the key, and no there were no more shots hit up the middle that normal. If we want to speed up the game I would start with regulating the number of curtesy runners per inning, that to me seamed like a big waist of time in the game.

Discussion: 1 and 1 count

I agree with the multiple courtesy per inning slowing down the game, but the 1-1 count with no foul defiantly speeded up the game in the 40 plus division this year in Vegas.

Discussion: Some more 40's bumps for 2018

I have a Question, I played 50aaa 2016, got bumped to 50m this year do to winning Vegas and played 50m in 2017, I also play 40m with Quick Roofing and got bumped to 40m+ this year, does that mean I'm now a major + player on my 50+?

Discussion: When did our generation become such cry babies

I read all the young players message boards and all I hear from my age group is back in our time we WANTED to play the best teams and strove to play the highest class possible. Now that I'm in the 50+ division I'm hearing the same lame excuses the younger players use for not wanting to play up, we was going to play in a tournament this weekend and the director has to remove us because he said the other teams started complaining and we would lose most of them if we played and we are just a Major team. Nothing has changed but the age of the players!!!!

Discussion: 2017 TEXAS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Just to far for most of the teams from Texas except the West Texas based teams, of all the places to have our state tournament that had to be the worst location. It's over 600 miles from the DFW area, that's like us going to either KC or ABQ. We ( Escobar Body Shop ) would love to play, just to far for us.

Discussion: Start-up Team

You don't want to start out in 2A anyway, you will drive to tournaments only to play in a 3/4 team round robin. I've never understood why teams travel all the way to Vegas just to play in a 8 team tournament when they could play 1 level higher and play in a 60 team tournament.

Discussion: Senior Softball Tournament Prizes

Our team won the Vegas master world tournament in the 3A division this past year, no shirt, no medal, no bag of goodies, we did get a nice ring I must say but its not something I will wear daily and like a trophy it will go in my wife's jewelry case and forgotten, one of them 50.00 masters shirts would have been nice.
