Discussion: BREAKING NEWS ALERT! ALERT!

I have played this Senior game for 7yrs now, BEST TIME of my life, with my friends from Dayton,Ohio and a few guys from surrounding states. I've been BLESSED to play with some very talented guys at the AA/AAA level in these 7yrs. I'll also mention the TREMENDOUS Friendships I've had the pleasure to make with guys and ladies all over the EAST coast to Phoenix and California...Fran/Terry,SSWC etc...

I take "GREAT OFFENSE" to the comments from, I assume from a M+ player...who chooses to snub his nose at the AA level!!!! I have a number of friends that play 55M+ and 60M+..not one time have I ever been looked down upon due to the team I play with, Dayton Legends 50s/55s. from my friends at the higher levels. It's always.."how u guys doing..best to u guys" and back at them!!! It's RESPECT...

Frankly, winning at the M+ level or at the AA level is NO DIFFERENT...u do it with ur friends..a great weekend of fun, laughter, sweat, some blood along the way..a few muscle pulls, raise a few drinks of ur favorite beverage, etc....u did it as a group of guys u care about...U CAN"T BUY IT or CHARGE IT ON A CREDIT CARD

So, Mad Dog/60's ..say what u will..it's ur right, I totally disagree with every thing u've said about the AA level and what u think it means as LOW LEVEL...I wouldn't trade my 7yrs of "memories with my friends" for all of the awards u may have attained at ur M+ level...

U can choose to blast away here...it's ur right!

MY hats off to all the guys and gals who choose to play the "LEVEL of their choice" and enjoy the time with their friends!

It's just my 2 cents worth on this tourney..yes, HOTTTT, rained out Sat, can't control that. Diamond crew, great job.!!!
HOWEVER, I think we should have gotten to play the FINALS, (yes we were in it) 1-1 and play a regular game to see what happens! 1 pitch and 5 innings for the Finals wasn't good, the TD knew at the beginning of the day WE could get the Finals in, they were scheduled anyway to finish at the normal times, YES, we lost and came in 2nd. Would have liked to have been able to play the FINALS with a better chance than 1 pitch and 5 innings..

JMHO....

You will need to put where you are from, city, state, area. There may be a Senior league or travel team you are not aware of. Guys on here will be able to help you this way.

Best to you...

Discussion: Slideing at the HOME PLATE

Someone correct me if I'm WRONG...but, ISF,SSUSA,ISA,SPA, I'm sure I've missed an Assoc...but, U CAN NOT SLIDE INTO HOME or FIRST. U have 2 home plates for all above mentioned ASSOCIATIONS. U have to use the 2nd home plate to cross, if u touch regular home plate U ARE OUT, u have to cross the ORANGE bag on a play to 1st base or u can be called out.

I can't believe someone slid in a Senior's tourney and was called.. SAFE!!!

If I'm all wet here, CORRECT ME!!! I can take it!! haha..

WE didnt do that well, played in the 50AA. Had to play at the A.Burton School the entire time EXCEPT if u got to Sunday. 2 yrs in a row at A.Burton School. Still haven't seen Moyer or the other place YET!!! RBjr needs to pass the ABurton School around to EVERYONE! Give some other teams a chance to play at the NICE COMPLEXES!!

Also, had a MGR of a team who, TOTALLY MISUSED the C/runner every darn inning for nearly every batter, 3rd, 2nd, 1st.."time ump, sub #24 for #14, called time outs to talk to the picther, we never got passed the 6th inning!!! YEP, we lost, it was just pathetic how the MGR continued to disrupt the entire game with a time out for c/runners. Saw it in our game and in several others they played...

Doubt we go back, only 2 pool games, for $500.00 and to travel 7hrs to play,,,it should be 3 pool, just my 2 cents worth. Good balls, umps did a nice job, lights at ABurton are AWFUL!!!

Good to see everyone, once again....Senior Softball people are 1st CLASS FOLKS.
Best to everyone the rest of 2010.

Discussion: Senior Softball is a Joke

Ladies/Gentlemen..I've read all these captions and I must say, honestly..these last 7yrs of Senior Softball have been the GREATEST YEARS of my career. I'm 57, had more fun and laughs, GREAT TIMES with my friends on trips, van rides, stories of the tourneys we played, some World Championships, etc, etc...to celebrate with your friends 300 or 500 miles away from home, you did it together, FAR OUT WEIGHS the All World selection, RINGS,MVP, bags, plaques, etc, etc.

I wouldn't trade these last 7yrs for ANYTHING. The commadre among all the age groups, 50 -80yrs is 1st CLASS wherever you go, guys are smiling and having fun, playing a kids game at 50 to 80+...the smell of BEN-GAY or Bio-FREEZE...haha..knee wraps, leg wraps.

THANKS to ALL OF YOU that make this Senior game ..WHAT IT IS....a "true blessing"...

James..I have a HOH-ProH that I bought in April 1979. (Worked a Sat.at GM to pay for it. $79.95 back then) 12 3/4" been restrung a couple times, Glove guy in Illinois put a patch of leather where it was worn, has a few cracks in the pocket. I keep it oiled up and wrapped in a towel in the winter. Starting my 31st year with my HOH-ProH. Love this glove. Made in the U.S.A. Best made in my opinion.Used it on the Senior Circuit for 7yrs now, infield, outfield. Not buying another! Good hunting......

Steve...who won the game between...Blue Chip and Bob Cats 55/60 Silver on Sunday..??? If I heard correct...Blue Chip won...? That would NOT make the Bob Cats winning that bracket, becuz..we beat the Blue Chip on Sat, even though we lost to the Bob Cats on Sat nite...we were 4-1. Straighen me out if I don't have this correct..

The Dayton Legends will be sending over the 55AA and 60AA teams.

We are operating 4 teams out of our organiztion this year, 55,60,65,70..around 60-70 memebers total. Some are just associate members in our club..
IF, anyone is interested in how we operate as a CLUB, let me know, be glad to share our success.

WES..regarding to "USING PATCHES"..call out to SSWC and talk to Fran, they do a real nice job on the PHOENIX PATCHES..got one from 2005, real nice. If she'll send u one or a picture, you could modify it to your tourney. Not sure if your talking about a L'ville tourney or here in Dayton, Ohio...let me know if u need some help on this patch...

Discussion: Player for Phoenix tourn. in October

I don't want to "rain on ur request" but...unless Terry Henessey and Company of SSWC have changed the rules, you will NOT be able to play with another team because u didn't QUALIFY with another team to be allowed to play in the Phoenix, AZ Worlds. I'd suggest you give Terry a call in Sacramento,CA and give him your story...and if, circumstances are enough to persuade them to change the rule for you...and another team wants to take you with them....God Bless you.....don't be real surprised if they say..."WE'RE SORRY", but NO..!

If someone has more recent information of encouragement for this player..please straighten ME out!

Good Hunting..
