Humbling too.....HONOR...however,,,,the TEAM AWARD is really the ONLY THING that matters..."WE DID IT AS A GROUP!!....the TDs need to give tthe "INDIVIDUAL AWARDS"...whatever they are to the MGR...let them take them home or back to the motel...take some time to vote, talk or whatever AS THE TEAM....who cares at the complext after th weekend who wins WHAT??? The TDs shouldn't....Team Award is the most important award for all the guys to gather and congratulate each other... Just my humble opinion......GLADY...give up the INDIVIDUAL awards for a TEAM WINNING WEEKEND!!! JC #24 |

NOT GOING TO HAPPEN....it's ONE AND DONE, doesn't matter if u go, 20 innings....AA will always be ONE HR...they don't want teams with JAKKERS staying down in AA.. .win a little.........MOVE TO AAA and up if u want to hit'em outta here!!! | Nov. 6, 2007 jc24 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: 2007 End of Year Observations My 2 cents worth as a previous 50's now, a 55's is that the BOOMER Generation and those above me are carrying the QUALITY of the game to levels that the younger guys dcn't believe till they come and play OR...watch. It's pretty amazing whether at the AA to M+ levels how talented Senior Softball has gotten. It's the most fun I've ever had in my entire softball career of 30+years. The friendships, relationship with team mates and getting to know others around THIS GREAT COUNTRY is "AWESOME"! Winning is STILL FUN, celebrating a National Championship is an experience you can't explain ,with ur friends for a weekend, a CHAMPIONSHIP RING to remember the weekend(s), etc, etc...it's PRICELESS a KODAK MOMENT forever! I cherish them all. I thank you to all my team mates and coaches the last 4 years who have made my career complete and maybe some more fun times to come.... | Sept. 6, 2007 jc24 | Topic: Players looking to join a team Discussion: MESSAGE BOARD Redeye and I play together....we see them all the time..a real good 50s team...just a side note, I was talking to the coach on Saturday in Burlington, NC and he said the only reason that they are STILL, a 50s team is that a number are NOT 55 yet, so they play 50. I don't know when the others are turning 55...I didn't ask that question... Another note: A good bunch of guys!!!! Best to ya...... JC #24 |

COOL....!!!! we just wear what we got...already wore the gray and white shirts...too dirty to clean! haha.... I really tried to talk with Fran and Company at the picnic tables there for 10 min.....she was VERY UNDERSTANDING and tried to help. They just couldn't change the rules for AA...TOO LATE! If you ever need something from Fran....she's great to work with. A very nice lady ..pretty high up at SSWC too!!! Good luck in Phoenix with ur bunch...!!! I thot most of the umps did a pretty good job...a couple....ehhhh! complex was pretty nice...couple fields were too uneven...we didn't play on them..others did! Heard complaints... Good seeing a message board guy! Keep hitt'in them deep!!! |

WE came through the l/bracket on Sunday...to the semi's...ran out of gas to the Ohio Silverodos...by 1 run.. finished up 3rd...Ohio S...DD'd Cooney Classiics in the 55AA Finals.... Good Hunting to both of u guys the rest of the way....we're good for 1 more...in Burlington, NC...I THINK!!! haha... Talked to Fran on Friday about 275' fences...she said they DID NOT KNOW, the fences were 275' when they booked the complex....couldn't change the rules on the hrs for outs after one for AA, SHE DID TRY!!!....oh well.........should have been singles for sure!!!! |
| Aug. 3, 2007 jc24 | Topic: Associations Discussion: Dwindling #s in Manassas !!!??........ There are....54 teams, it looks like for the ISF for Aug.18th ?? It's 9 hrs to get there by car. I won't be going back! BALLS ARE TERRIBLE, WHITE, can't see the ball in the infield, very well AT ALL, after 2 innings and it doesn't go for much distance as the game moves forward. UNTIL, RB pays attention to OUR REQUEST, things won't change.....do the math on $400 x 54....I know all about diamond rentals, umpires, balls..if their NOT donated by the vendor, awards...and FORGET THOSE MEDALLIONS...t-shirts, hats or wrist bands...something instead....JMO...don't see it changing but....I'm not coming again, either! We're playing in the Eastern Nationals in Elgin, Ill...Aug.10-12th. THEN, Labor Day in Burlington, NC..ASA...that's it! Not a lot of committment from the guys this year...pretty disheartning for most of us! I know, U and I understand Mike's situation..he loves the game but..............he does what he can and has to decide what he really has to do...tell Mike..HOWDY for me...came in 2nd over in Manassas, ISF...gave the ring away..oh well...another day! haha... Best to u guys in Gadsden, Al...have some fun for me this weekend... NO...we're not coming to Dalton, GA.. She's really good about being STRAIGHT UP with U on issues. WE all know guys are sliding in lower teams, back and forth..doesn't mean it's right....
