July 30, 2007 SAG | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: NSA Finals Hey Leo, Hope at some point this year we can play you guys again. I was hoping we would have a chance this tournament but it wasn't in the cards. Kind of ran into a bump in the road just before we were getting to you. You guys had a great tournament as usual. Like you said I hope in Dalton we can dodge each other plus any of the teams that were there this weekend until we have had a chance to play a few games in the double elimination. We wil also have to contend with Tater's team up there. It's going to be a great tournament and the teams will have to be at their best or they will be going home early. #19 Kaysons Steve |
July 29, 2007 SAG | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: NSA Finals Looking forward to see who won it. My guess is the Classic's. I do know that whoever plays them better be way ahead going into the last inning. I would always want to be the home team against them. Most every game they played was close until the open inning then they came alive. We hung on and won in the round robin but couldn't stop them in the bottom of the 7th when it counted. Great team great games. Enjoyed it. We played 7 very competitive games balls were great weather was wet towards the end. 4th out of 8 is not what we hoped for but that was what we deserved. Got to hit it to win. Can't wait until Burlington and Dalton back to back. #19 Kaysons Grille Steve George |
July 24, 2007 SAG | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: NSA 50\'s tournament in Boaz, Alabama Nancy, As far as we are concerned the teams to beat are the Classics and Monster. The Classics have not lost a tournament all year and Rabbit always brings a winner when he gets his teams together. The Monster team is very, very good and they added John Hayes to their roster. He will help them a bunch. Like they needed another great hitter. Of course there is always the unranked put together teams of major plus players that show up. You never know who is showing up in these NSA AAA tournaments. I'm sure the other teams going are good also or they would not be there. I know the Silverhawks are a new team and we have played them several times this year. Those boys can hit the ball and are tough for anybody to beat. It should be a great tournament. Last year our game with the Jags was the most intense and fun game we played all year. We lost and were pissed but it was fun and they are a great bunch of guys. Good luck Steve George #19 Kaysons Grille |
July 24, 2007 SAG | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: NSA 50\'s tournament in Boaz, Alabama Hey Steve, Your little ol AA team is a handfull and will make it tough for some if you guys are on your game. Gald to see you guys are going to be there. Hope you have a good tournament just not against us. We are going to have 17 guys there but two are injured and can't play. Our best is out of town but hopefully someone will pick up the slack. Good luck Steve George #19 Kaysons Grille |
June 25, 2007 SAG | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Marietta SPA results Hi Bruce, I think they were put back into the 55 AAA division. They combined the AAA 50, 55 and they also added a 60 major team to the 50's bracket. the 60's team was the one that beat old South there last year or the year before. They hit the ball. Ga Albama Masters put on a hitting clinic against us. We were down 18-1 going into the 4th and none of their runs up to that point were on errors. It Took us a while to get going, Ended up 22-18 I think and we made a few errors at the end of the game. We were more concerned about the umpires than out hitting. The unpires were not bad and they didn't cost us any runs except when one guy overruled the homeplate umpire on a call where he was behind the play. It was the correct call though. We were outplayed by them. We dropped balls ade mistakes and they played well. Great bunch of guys and it's always fun playing them. |
June 25, 2007 SAG | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Marietta SPA results Dale, When i left Almost Old (John Hayes new team) was beating Monster Softball in the finals of the 50's. If Monster came back they would have to play a second game. They were down alot when i left so I assume they lost and John Hayes team won. Monster if you came back and beat them then I'm sorry i jumped the gun and left before it was over. Missed a great comeback if you won it. Results unless Monster had a great comeback. 1. Almost Old (New team with John Hayes) 2. Monster Softball 3. Birmingham 55 4. Ga Albama Masters 5. A team out of Arkansas 6. Kaysons 50's 7. Silver Hawks 8. Micky Blevins Construction There was certainly some great hitting this weekend and as usually a great tournament to play in. Steve George Kaysons Grille #19 |

Jan. 26, 2007 SAG | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Update on Bob Prayers Needed This is an email our team received from Doug Hill of Kaysons Grille. This is an email from Doug Hill Guys, Joyce just called! Bob is in a real battle with Cancer. The cancer has now attacked his spleen, intestines and other organs, The Doctors are doing everything possible to fight it, the Family has been with him the last few days, He is in surgery right now (internal bleeding). Joyce will let me know what is in store for him next, The Family appreciates the calls and Prayers and your thoughts they just don't know what to tell us when we call, so keep the prayers and thoughts coming, because it's not going unnoticed. Speak to the Head Coach and let him know we need that great Shortstop. Before he is traded to the Big Leagues in Heaven. Joyce knows it's our prayers that's keeping him fighting right now. I will be in Gainesville tomorrow to give you another update. Please pass this along to the softball world. Thanks Doug Bob and Joyce, our prayers are with you and your family Posted by Steve George #19 Kaysons Grille |
Jan. 19, 2007 SAG | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: PRAYER REQUEST HELLO BOB I KNOW THAT GOD IS WITH YOU AND YOU WILL BE PLAYING WITH US THIS SUMMER YOU ARE IN OUR PRAYERS GOD BLESS YOU YOUR FRIEND IN CHRIST RICHARD CUMBY KAYSONSGRILLE #24 |
Jan. 19, 2007 SAG | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: PRAYER REQUEST I have known Bob for a few years and enjoyed playing ball with him during that time. There are many people that act like Christians until they get on the ball field, however, Bob always showed respect and a gentleman on the field. My Bible tells me that we will know them (Christians) "by their fruits." (Actions) Our family will be praying for Bob and Joyce. As we pray, we know our GOD can do anything, therefore, we know what the doctor has said, "who's report will you beleive?" As for our house we will beleive in the report of the LORD. Jan. 17, 2007 SAG | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: PRAYER REQUEST I was just getting ready to post a message about Bob. Don could not catagorize Bob any beter than he did. There are not many people like him and it is a pleasure to be able to call him a good freind. He is very sick but his attitude is very positive. Please drop him a line or at the very least say a prayer for Bob and his wife Joyce. Both are great folks. Steve George Kaysons Grille #19 |
Dec. 11, 2006 SAG | Topic: Players looking to join a team Discussion: softball Goot, email me at sag3206@yahoo.com What age group are you looking for and what division would you play in. We have the only 50+AAA travel team in Georgia but most of us play ,as Bruce said, in Woodstock and Smyrna in leagues. I'm don't think we have an opening on the tournament team but send me your information anyway. Last year we thought we were full and were scrambling for guys due to injuries and players moving. There are always openings in the leagues. Steve George #19 Kaysons Grille 50+ |
Oct. 9, 2006 SAG | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Need results for Pensacola Tourneyment. Hey Don, Always great to play you guys, great competition and only makes us better. As far as a major rating if it happens we will play but it won't take long to get moved back down when we have to start playing by their rules instead of ours. Good luck to all of you. Oct. 9, 2006 SAG | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Need results for Pensacola Tourneyment. Elmo, Not going to argue with you about it. If you say you are major and Pensacola Merchants are AAA then you are major and they are AAA. I stand corrected. As far as Southern Softball I thought they were moved up to major for next year. They are a very good AAA team and I don't think they should be moved up to major. All three teams are very good and you are a great bunch of guys and fun to play against. Kaysons 50AAA #19 |

Oct. 2, 2006 SAG | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Who is coming to Pensacola. Don, From the looks of the 55 teams I don't think you guys will have any problem rolling over any of the the 50's AAA teams unless all of you bat the oppisite of your normal side and you wear your gloves on the wrong hand.
