Discussion: Pickup BP in San Diego?

Goater,

We have a group of guys that get together every Sunday at 8:30 am. We take some BP then split up and play a Double Header from 9-11:45 am. Each team uses its own pitcher (3 pitches) with a screen protector. The group has been playing this for over 30 years. The ages range from 25 to 60 year olds. We also use senior bats. You are welcome to come out if you are in town on any Sunday.

Discussion: Shadow Rock Complex

Maybe we as players could write Clark County with our concerns. Especially with the safety issues that park puts players in.

Discussion: Shadow Rock Complex

I guess we all are getting spoiled...25 years ago we would have thought Shadow Rock was the place to play....but I agree, that field sucks...a ball took a wicked hop on me at 3rd, I was so close to needing dental work for a year...scary!!!

Discussion: Vegas 50's Fields

@Benji...LMAO at your comment "They had to cater to youngster league night heroes with shaved bats"..how efffing true...so funny watching those Mutts play during the week at any of the BLD..they think they are Hank Aaron....

as for BLD in Vegas, pretty much anyone can hit a HR there...its when they have to play at a different field and its "Oh O..thats not going to Go" They walk back to the dugout and say they just missed it..LMAO...ah, the life of a fake wanna be HR hitter...

Discussion: Bryce Canyon & Zion

Playing in the St George Spring Worlds this upcoming weekend..only way to get the wife to come with me was to take her to Bryce Canyon and Zion...after a 9.5 drive we are here....its friggin 20 degrees outside. I brought my bats into the room with me to "Keep Bats Warm" (Pedro Cerrano, Major League)

I heard its not good to leave them in the car if its freezing out?

Discussion: POWER HITTERS

I'm 5-9 210 lbs and hit Bombs all the time. It’s all about pitch selection, wrist and hips...if you can stay inside the pitch and turn on the ball without pulling your hips out, you can even miss it and the ball will still go out. Now that easier said than done....all of us HR hitters can go bad really quick by opening up to fast...if you can stay inside the ball and generate bat speed, it’s gwon… You will hear HR hitters many times say they missed it (almost feel embarrassed ) and it still went out and guys will say "yeah right, you missed it " but we know we missed it. When HR hitters really connect, they feel good. Those want-to-be Hr hitters will be happy when they hit it 301 ft…

@ Cougar...I hope they don't reveal how they can detect if a bat has been rolled. Why give a way for the CHEATERS to exploit it. Let them get caught!!!!

Discussion: Do we have this rule

I'm going to say NO, because once the pitcher pitches the ball and the batter doesn't swing at it and it lands on the ground it becomes time out or dead ball and nothing is in play again until the pitcher starts to pitch the next pitch...I'm not a umpire but just guessing.
