Never had a ring or trophy call me up and say , lets go get lunch , how ya doing , How is the family. But my softball bros are always there win or lose. Its not the prize , its the journey to try and achieve the prize. Sometimes we do , sometimes we don't. But there is always the journey !

Like CLYDE POINDEXTER PHILLIPS says its slow pitch senior softball,underhand slow pitch senior softball.Just hit it. Playing for the love of the game and because I can. Get it close I will hit it.
Feb. 1, 2018 SJV	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Spot the Major + player If you pay they will come. Major plus in most cases, NOT ALL are fully sponsor shipped teams. Most major teams are not fully sponsored. If you can pay for a majority of type 1 players POWER to mix with your player 2 all around consistency then you have a good chance of having a major plus team. Qtherwise just play ball with your buddies have fun. Like a wise old veteran once said , Its underhand slo-pitch softball, senior softball . Just my 2 cents.
Jan. 10, 2017 SJV	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Summys Nighthawks now Summys Demolition ? I see in the Top Gun Tournament for this weekend that Demolition is now Summys Demolition. Is Summys Nighthawks no more ??? They were a great team and a great group of guys over the years.
Nov. 28, 2016 SJV	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Congratulations Clyde Poindexter Phillips Just want to say congratulations to Clyde on his induction into the SSUSA HALL OF FAME this friday evening in Las Vegas. You are the headliner in the TOP GUN Show for sure. Clyde informed his EAST COUNTY BOYS he will be coming out of his one year retirement and will be on the field for the 2017 season. With 2 metal hips Point says, pain is part of the game. Once again pitchers will get to hear Point say, SHE GONE ! I,m just glad I am on his team.

April 14, 2016 SJV	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Half Run Rule KP&R 3 out of the five games we played the 1/2 run came into play. Won 2 lost 1 the championship game. Scored 3 runs in the bottom half of the open inning. We were down 3 1/2. Lost by 1/2 a run. Its a great way to keep a tournament on schedule. Nothing worse than showing up for your game and finding out the tournament is behind by 2 1/2 hours because of a tie game. No ones fault , but all you hear is the bitching and complaining. I think its a great rule.
April 13, 2016 SJV	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Half Run Rule Recently played in a tournament in Bullhead. Visiting team was given a 1/2 run. This assured no tie games, thus no extra inning games. Tournament ran on time. Why is this rule not used in more tournaments ? What is the drawbacks ?
March 21, 2016 SJV	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: POWER HITTERS Why is it 2 guys using the exact same bat with the exact same swing speed can hit the ball so differently ? One guy is 5ft 8in 195lbs just a monster power hitter. The other guy 6ft 1in 235lbs a good line drive hitter but very few homers. What is the reason behind this, just technique ? Seems like the bigger guy would hit it farther, but we all know that's not always the case.

They must have been good cause he sure was winning a lot. Maybe it was cause they just had #20 CLYDE POINDEXTER PHILLIPS. He was always so quiet, you didn't even know he was there. Until he got in the batters box. She gone !
Dec. 7, 2015 SJV	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Poindexter is Selected Clyde(Poindexter)Phillips was selected to be inducted into the SSUSA HALL OF FAME next year. Clyde retired from senior softball earlier this year. One thing about Clyde he does it in style. Helping his team to a Grand Slam Championship this year at the Masters. Clyde says two things to remember, Chicks dig the long ball ! Bling and Rings baby ! Congratulations. We will miss you.
Nov. 3, 2015 SJV	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Bullhead City Flip Flop is Bull $@i* There were a lot of interesting rules put in place for the tournament due to the weather conditions. All in all it was a fun and enjoyable tournament. It was a very interesting conclusion for the 6os division. But rules are rules and that is why they have to be followed. Nobody wants to win by a forfeit , but once you start changing rules because guys are friends you open up a lot of unnecessary problems.
Oct. 7, 2015 SJV	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: POINDEXTER RETIRES There was never a pitcher who could stop Clyde Poindexter Phillips. Even with 2 metal hips he was still one of the most prolific hitters in senior softball. Finally the big guy met his match,Father Time. Enough is enough. Not able to perform at his high level of performance on a consistent basis Clyde Phillips is hanging it up. But in typical [POINDEXTER)fashion he goes out with a Triple Crown All TOURNAMENT SELECTION. However you want to call him, Clyde, Point, Dex , whatever ? he is still one of the best, he is the man ! All of us hate to see you go , (maybe not certain pitchers). Clyde , gonna miss you man. Take care !
Feb. 10, 2015 SJV	Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Best Hitters in Senior Softball Clyde (Poindexter)Phillips,DH for TopGun SoftballClub out of Southern Calif. One of the BEST pure hitters in all of senior softball. Power whenever its needed. Base hitter whenever its necessary. Extremely competitive and confident. No brag just fact !
Nov. 17, 2014 SJV	Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: LOST GLOVE AT PAPAGO This glove is basically brand new and has hardly made any catches in the last year. It does have a few grass stains from being tossed here and there. It does have a lot of bench time also. It is definitely a one person glove. Kevin, let me know if you need anymore help in finding (your) glove. Did I make the team yet ?
