Well I guess I will see Mr. Deaton in Cullman. Hope he has his documentation in order. I know the tournment director and can get that documentation.

Concerning Mr. Deaton. Mr. Deaton played in a SPA tournment at Marietta, GA. in 1998. He won the homerun trophy and was MVP. If he can play 55's now, I assume he has just turned 55. Lets see 2005 minus 1998. That is 8 years. That would make him 47 or 48 in 1998. At one time people could turn their self in if they played under age. I do not have to call him to listen to his explanation. He had better have his documentation up to date and explain it to SPA, NSA, and the other organizations, when he plays. I am sure teams would hate to lose a national tournment on a protest.

I agree with Tater and MK. Wait until this rule bites you in the butt and it causes you to lose a world championship. I guess I cant understand how a person in Florida would want a summer home in Georgia. Nothing against Georgia, but snowbird is ususally the other way around. I think this rule was meant more towards the older guys who have the money to live up north and go south for the winter. But I guess people fudge just a little to bend the rules to their advantage. Maybe this rule will be more defined next time or eliminated.

Discussion: Driver's License Determines Residence

This is a good idea. I know that drivers license can be forged, but if they are caught they would be banned from Senior Softball no exceptions. This would give them something to think about. Some people will try to win at all costs. They have to prove something to their sponsors. That hurts the little man who has to pay for everything. Good idea.

I know with your business connections, you could put together one heck of a team. I hope this can be ironed out to make it fair for all teams. I know no one wants a super team, where you would have no one to play. Senior softball needs to grow through fair competition and sportsmanship.

In a previous thread, you mentioned the Georgia Crush. Anyway, I was in Plano and saw the protest. I guess since your team was not there, you didnt get hurt by the ruling. But, I am sure Old South Miken and Las Vegas Stars are not real happy about getting knocked out a World Championship. I bet if you had spent about 10,000 dollars to go to Plano, you would be raising Cain too. I will leave your thread and let the other Senior Players comment. Oh, by the way I plan to talk to John Mack in person at NSA nationals.

I understand that this snowbird issue revolves around the Georgia(Florida) Crush's use of an illegal player from South Florida. That sounds like something John Mack would do. He got his budget cut by Ralph's wife, now he will do anything to win. That sounds about like something he would doand has done before. Example Gary Deaton playing in when he was 47 years old. What is wrong with Senior Softball is people like John Mack. Just ask what some of his former players think about him. Not very much. He moves the team to Georgia so that he could get around other rules, then he breaks additional rules on top of that. He should be the one supended. I guess money will make you do a lot of illegal things. I wonder if Ralph knows what is going on. I am sure he would not be pleased.
