Aug. 21, 2020 jc11 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Greg Pelligrini Memorial Link For all that knew Greg Pelligrini, here is the link for his GoFundMe page, which is supporting family and expenses towards Greg's estate. Greg had a heart attack Sunday morning in St.George, Utah surrounded by his teammates, and doing what he loved, playing Senior Softball. v/r, Jeff(Todd)Colwell |
March 10, 2020 jc11 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Ratings @SSUSA Staff - I think it would be good for SSUSA to disclose how the ratings are calculated without having to personally call and identify yourself(why should that matter?). It would be nice for a published guide on how SSUSA rates the teams(in different divisions(i.e AAA, Major, Major+)based on scores, run differentials, etc). Maybe you have one in existence? I'm not sure. Willy8 might have opened a discussion that other players might like to understand, but are afraid to talk about it. v/r, Jeff Colwell |
May 18, 2018 jc11 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Best ASA bat for mush balls The best ASA bats hands down are Monsta. We've seen it over and over. I use the Monsta Torch, and it kills the 52Cor - 275 balls. Look at the video's on YouTube of "war by the shore," which is the Monsta Super WC team vs Smash it Sports. I would suggest doing your own research. I've personally hit Monsta bats since 2011, before they were as well known as they are now. Monsta Athletics.com. The COR and COMP your using is a little UN-normal compared to the majority of 52Cor - 275Comp balls used for most ASA play, however, it's not far off. Call Monsta and ask them, they are very friendly. Hope this helps. |
April 30, 2018 jc11 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: New Softball for 2018 I just got a message from Trump I'm receiving the new MCT balls this Wednesday 5/2. They are definitely back ordered as the amount of individuals/teams/organizations increases. I agree with Dave to use your existing Stote balls until they "arrive on site." I think it will be worth the wait. Patience grasshopper's..... |

Aug. 21, 2017 jc11 | Topic: Product review Discussion: Evil B.P. 52+ Softballs 44 cor balls are not safer on Senior bats, they are very good at helping to break a bat in. If not used properly, especially when the weather gets below 55°, you stand a chance to break the bat. It also stands whether the bat has some durability. 52 cor 300/275 balls work well and will not harm most senior bats. They will just make the break in period longer. |
July 21, 2017 jc11 | Topic: Bats Discussion: Bat for an ASA 52/275 ball. If you go to any Major ASA tournament, you will see the LC(low compression) Monsta Bats everywhere. All other bats companies for this 52/300(or 275) are trying to copy. Why do you think Chris Greinhart, Ryan Dacko(who are both on Long Haul Bombers Tour), etc use them! The DNA, Bombadier, and now the Torch are the standard. They absolutely kill that ball. That being said...."hombre" mentioned finding a bat for a USSSA association using 52/275 balls. Other bats companies(other than Monsta) have dual stamps, meaning they can be used in both USSSA and ASA. Good Luck |

April 5, 2016 jc11 | Topic: Bats Discussion: ASA & USSSA BATS 3.4(3) • APPROVED BATS All bats marked "1.21 BPF" (Bat Performance Factor) or less, SSUSA approved bats, or bats having an ASA 2000 or 2004 stamp are approved for use. Any bat displaying the label "Exceeds 1.21 BPF" is not approved. The rating must be clearly visible on the bat, or it must be obvious to the inspector that the bat is of an age to make it not high-tech. Effective with the 2014 playing Season, any new bats introduced by bat manufacturers after 2013 must be clearly and permanently marked “Approved for SSUSA Use”, or similar, by permanent sticker, etching or imprint. |
