Randy (T.T.),
Prescott is a great idea; I do not think the fields are being used and our motels/restaurants have been slow.
Maybe SSUSA could reach out to the City of Prescott Parks and Rec to inquire.
Hope all is well.

Discussion: Net for Pitchers

Thought about this,
I agree that pitcher safety is primary, but a ball hit up the middle being an "out" if it strikes the net ?
DISAGREE
Using this school of thought, why don't we just move the pitcher back to 2nd base and hit off a tee ? WEAK
Finally (and I thought about this a lot) ..... safe is not fun ..... want fun and safety ... play horseshoes.
Oh wait, CORNHOLE is taking that game over, cuz' it's edgy and dangerous.
Huh, Jimbo ???
Have a great day amigos.
Stay safe, stay strong, stay healthy

Minimize the protective netting, say to 18" wide (2 ft max)and 6 1/2 feet tall.
It will still do the job, with the pitcher mandated to be behind it.
I do not agree with the two strikes and a ball striking this net off the bat being an out; it's a ball hit up the middle and most likely gets through for a single. Dead ball, the hitter shouldn't be penalized for this.
I understand player safety is paramount, this is a start.
Stay safe, stay strong and stay healthy.

I may have that answer ....
Did a very recent SSUSA Hall of Fame inductee organize that tourney?

I am a fan of the Dudley Lightning.
I went through two Mikens, the first lasted less than 6 weeks when it blew.
Bought a Dudley during the 2015 season and have flat abused it. Bought a second in preparation for breakage late in 2015. The first lasted until two weeks ago (Vegas Worlds) and I now see a crack in the sweet spot. I have no idea on swing count, but it would easily exceed a thousand.
I will be buying another Dudley as a back up pretty quick.
Just my 2 cents.

I will start this off, SSUSA ..... great tourney, great location, nice hotels and good restaurants within 20 minutes of everything, airport pretty easy to navigate. I cannot think of anything negative. Tourney staff listened when you had a question. Scrap Iron had a fundraiser that was fun and entertaining.
I mean it, really great event and a really nice location.
Thank you SSUSA.
Congrats Jimmy's/Ancell 50 Major winner, that was fun between Saturday and Sunday; and to the Texas Bull's, really enjoyed you guys.
See you all in Vegas.

Hitem,
I hear you and agree completely with you on this topic (check out my past posts).
I have recently kept quiet after my club recieved negative attention, which should have been directed completely at me and not them. I own my comments and stand behind them.
SSUSA,
Thank you for your response and direction.

Let me make sure I got this straight, "Hitem" has an issue, posts it and then gets blown up with negativity by the next day. That is not cool, some folks want to try and change something they perceived as wrong, yet do not feel comfortable identifying themselves. That is why most communities have a crime fighting program called "Silent Witness" (or something similar) and we also have the "Whistleblowers Protection Act", to attempt to right a wrong without the personal risk.
Bottom-line, if "Hitem" does not say something .... then he is agreeing that the wrong act was "right".
Give the guy a break.
I am sure that SSUSA reviews these posts and hopefully they realize the potential liability they face if something occurs (or does not occur) in a SSUSA sanctioned event.
My 2 cents.

The AOS organization is well run. We have very good players that are even better people.
Just my 2 cents.

Adidas has a lightweight trail shoe. The sole is wide to alleviate rolling the ankle and offers some traction. Breathable top. I have only seen it in black. Reasonably priced at $45.

Discussion: SSUSA Staff: Shaved Bats

I would like to see SSUSA start random compression tests. I play the infield and notice rockets coming off the bat first hand.
But what I really notice is players getting loose with one bat and not hitting with that bat. But.... with the same bat that three or four other missle hitters on the team are using. Same bat manufacturer and same model, so what makes this one bat different ?
(sorry, hung out at B.L.D. all weekend and had nothing else to do)
SSUSA....please start testing. I think your liability insurance and attorney would agree, I know some infielders will.

Jonjon,
Thank you for hitting this post so it could take another trip around for people to be warned about Arizona area tourneys.
This many folks cannot be wrong, jealous or "gossipy".

Thought I would throw this discussion around the board one more time.
I understand that the tourney director (name listed above and never mentioned by me, ever) called the initial author and threated to throw his club (a club that he was subbing for) out of the Flagstaff event if he did not stop asking questions.
Full disclosure, I would learn Saturday that there were 5 games scheduled for this tourney. Thank you tourney director.

Randy, I am with you a 100 percent. You can look at my past posts and see my issue with this tourney provider. I have told our club that we need to just cut him out. But the bad thing is, he has the only game in the state (other then a few tourneys in Anthem and Pinetop) and if we want to play somewhat locally, we have to pay him and put up with his rules.
At the end of the day big guy, we can either deal with this guy and do what we love which is to compete ..... or .... watch this Senior Softball message board and make snarky comments to people we do not even know.
See ya this weekend.
