Good Day-

Recently moved to Lutz and looking to play some ball here in FLA !!!

Back in IL, I've played on several League nites and on a SSUSA teams.

Recommendations available upon request.

I'm 57 and still love to ball !!! Enjoy the competition and Camaraderie with team mates and other players.
Primarily I Pitch with over 30 years experience in ALL associations. Just love being on the Bump.

Hoping I connect with some teams in the area as I'm itching to play ball and having withdrawls. Willing to travel.

Discussion: BARRY BRAVO GATHERING

Softball Family-

As you may or may not know, Barry Bravo passed away recently.

His Family is hosting a "Gathering" in regards.

Please review below invitation.

As you'll read, attire is casual and Softball/Baseball Uni's are suggested.

Let's show support to his Family for what he brought to our Softball Family !!!

Hope to see you there...

==================================================================================================================

All,
As you recall, fellow umpire Barry Bravo passed away recently and plans for a service were TBA. Here is the plan:

Barry's family offered the following:

Subject: Barry Bravo: Family & Friends Gathering

We are no longer calling this a memorial as that term seemed to make our first two choices of venue back off. So now it's a gathering!

Come as you are. It's casual, softball/baseball T-shirts are encouraged.

Sunday, September 8th from 3:00 to 6:00pm
Centennial Activity Center, Multi-Purpose Room
100 S. Western Ave.
Park Ridge, IL 60068

Some folks have inquired about donations, the organization that helped us is:
Leukemia Research Foundation
191 Waukegan Rd. Ste 105
Northfield, IL 60093
www.allbloodcancers.org
(847) 424-0600

Hope you can make it. As Barry would say "good luck, have fun, don't get hurt"

As an UMPire, you are taught to do the right thing when weather comes into play. Safety is always first. Hope the TD's take into consideration. An UMPire can overrule the TD in this scenario. Last year, no games should have been played, PERIOD !!! No tourney is worth the money if players get injured due to "unplayable" field conditions. Yes, you sign a waiver, but lets use common sense here.

50AAA Miken/CTA will be there. But how are the field conditions ???
Rained all week and forecast is for more rain today/tonite.
Any indications they will cancel ? Dont want to play in the slop again.

Know TD can't control Mother Nature. But was anyone else upset that the 50AAA Losers Bracket didn't play on Sun ??? We paid full fee and lost (1) game maybe more. They could have altered game times, pitch counts, etc etc etc to let us play.

1st I'd like to apologize to all players who had fans and little ones out for the tourney on Sat 5/21 for my profanity.

2nd is I'd like to say THANKS to everyone who saw me off the fields on Sat 5/21. Don't remember much but do remember seeing alot of players from other Teams came over by me when I went down. Certainly appreciate your concern. Love my Softball Family. Thanks to the older gent with the flop hat who attended to me while waiting for the wambulance. Also, thanks to Team Illinois for not throwing me out at 3rd to end the game. LOL

Had emergency surgery in WI on Sat afternoon for a badly torn achilles. Home now resting. Doc said I'm out for 9+ months. Gonna miss being out there playing with all the teams. I'll be around tho, but am now demoted to waterboy and score keeper.

Good luck to all teams for remainder of the season !!!

Nice work Chi-Town 50's - CONGRATS on your Milwaukee win !!!
