Discussion: Midwest Championship schedule

Our 75 Major team found out from a player from a 70 team that the Strikers 75 Major team dropped out. Schedule was we play 3 pool play games against 70AAA and then play best out of 3 against other 75 Major to get a berth to the TOC. Our team Midwest/Fossils showed up to play and was informed that we were only 75 Major team so we would get the berth to the TOC BUT later in the day was informed we would have to win the bracket against the 70AAA to get the TOC berth. I find that a little crazy on SSWC part! We want to go to the TOC so why wouldn't they give us the berth?

Big difference between 70's and 75's - didn't win a game but still hoping to get the TOC berth as we want to go!

So does the umpire make the out call or does the defense need to alert the umpire to the call?

Discussion: Tourneys in the midwest

I agree with LMR about more tournaments and I think what he was talking about is there are 3 back to back weekends and that gets hard for us old guys. Moving Midwest Championships to Rogers AR makes it a 9 hour drive for our Iowa based team and longer for the MN and WI teams. I don't know but think attendance from the Upper Midwest will be down.

Here in Waterloo, Iowa we have a great 5 diamond complex with 300' 10 foot high fences, watered infields/outfields, 2 concession stands, 2 modern bathrooms, and plenty of room for 6-7 teams to have BP at the same time. Promise our complex will make everything else we play on in the Midwest and often time in Vegas look bad. We have hosted "A" ASA Nationals, 35 over nationals, USSSA Regional's and many state tournaments.

Would love to host a Senior Tournament.

Discussion: Midwest 65 AAA looking for players

The Fossils 60 team based out of Iowa is moving up to 65AAA for 2016 - we have 9 maybe 10 good players coming along but we sure could use a few more 65 players. We have usually played the tournaments surrounding us and then played in Vegas (2013 60 AAA Champs) so only looking at players willing to travel.

Could use infielders and or outfielders.

The core group of Fossils has played together since 2000 so pretty easy team to get along with but pretty competitive on the filed.

Discussion: Dave "Duke" Dukelow player/manager Roberts/Pope 60 major...passes today

Bogie and all the Pope/Roberts players and family sorry to hear of Duke's passing - Pope/Robert's and our team the Fossils have played many games and always enjoyed playing you guys. Duke was a great guy and we tipped a few cold ones together and told stories - we know it has been tough on everyone and I justed wanted to wish Peg and everyone associated with Duke our best.

Discussion: Partial Knee Replacement Experience

I had the Makoplasty done Nov. 2012 and rehab started out GREAT but then it stopped and pain was worse than before and was swelling up all the time. Ortho doc said he would never do partial in active person AGAIN - had total knee replaced after worlds Oct. 2013 1 year later. Another player on our team had his partial completly fail week after we got home from Vegas (2013) had total replacement.

If had to do over would have just went ahead the first time and total knee done. Partial was TERRIBLE for 2 of us.
