Red stitch red logo. Hit them again this morning. Probably 30 swings total on each of two dozen balls in the Fl heat and humidity over the last week . Still say perhaps not quite a tattoo but a good ball. No fall off I can see after multiple swings per ball. My synopsis…it’s round, it’s yellow, and it’ll fly just fine.

Hi Dave !! The Answer was more to put to rest any questions as to me being from the “factory”…🙄🙄. Just an old softball junkie melting away in the Florida humidity. Can’t wait for that nice dry heat in Vegas..🤣🤣

Just for full disclosure. It was not an insider trading deal Dave..😎 I know kevin but paid for three day air to ship from the few they had left after you guys bought them all..🤣🤣 as to me being a factory tester, no. Just trying to see what they were like. Can’t help it, I’m a “new stuff” junkie. Play for FBI 55m+.

just hit the new Baden fire ball this morning that's going to be used at the worlds. central florida, 90 degrees, 80% humidity, and no wind.
similar in performance to the tattoo, perhaps knuckles a bit more due to slightly flatter seams, but no where near as much as the rock, which is ridiculous.
exit speeds were a bit off today for me, as my back was acting up a bit after a day of yard work yesterday...... but still averaged high 80's on line drives (normally in the low to mid 90's) hit probably 5 or 6 in the low 90's.
As to distance, no real difference from these to the NX3s I hit for BP on a regular basis. 330 average to 350 on a well struck one.
We have one "youngster" (he's 53 and I'm 62 so i get to call him a youngster..... ) he is a monster, and hit one at 101 on a line drive and was elevating at the low to mid 90's.
As Kevin said, you will all be just fine hitting this ball, especially in Vegas, where dirty socks wrapped in duct tape are a viable alternative.
Thanks for the hookup Kevin!!! Rusty was awesome to deal with!!
See you all in Vegas!!!!

Discussion: Which bat to buy?

I also bought a parnell and have been impressed with it both in performance and durability. The thing that really surprised me was that this morning at our "socially distant BP" one of my friends brought a compression tester and the parnell tested at 150lbs. Never, and i mean NEVER, have i had a bat go below 170 without blowing up like a 4rth firecracker. i probably have 600+ swings on it. it is showing the tiny fractures that mean a bat is "well broken in", plus three parallel small cracks in line with the barrel. i will agree that it was good from the get go as well.

Discussion: Today's "super" bats

here's some outside the box thinking, why not go to a higher compression 52 cor ball? if people are complaining they don't fly as good as the 44-375s go to a 52 cor 375 compression? in my mind the compression has as much or more to do with the ball flight than the cor does. i have everything from 52-300 to stadium balls in my BP ball wagon and hit them all out. All the bats are good now days, you can't tell me the manufacturers can't come up with a ball that works good and still has safety designed into it.... Kevin ??? aren't the stadium balls high cor high compression, like 50-525, 50-600?? my BP ball of choice is the nx3. i have a large lot ordered and can't wait to get them. don't know what cor and comp they are, but put a good leather cover on them and i think you would have a GREAT game ball. easy on bats, they fly great and are designed with a low severity index. thoughts??

Discussion: Batting Practice Balls-- Evil BP balls (orange/white) vs Tattoo NX3 Balls (green/yellow)

I HAVE A BUNCH OF NX3 BALLS, BOTH 44-375 AND THE B.P. MULTI COLOR BALLS.

SOME ARE OVER 2 YEARS OLD AND WONT COME COMPLETELY CLEAN ANYMORE,

BUT STILL HIT JUST LIKE THEY DID WHEN I BOUGHT THEM. FOR B.P. YOU CANT BEAT

THE NX3. I ALSO HAVE A BUNCH OF OLD GAME BALLS OF ASSORTED TYPES, BUT

ONLY HIT THEM IF I KNOW THAT THE FIELD IS GOING TO BE DRY. NX3S YOU CAN HIT

IN A DOWNPOUR. AS TO BAT LONGEVITY, THE SPINNER AND THE 52 NX3 BALLS THAT

I HAVE DON'T SEEM TO BEAT ON A BAT NEAR AS BAD AS A REGULAR 44-375 BALL. I

GO THROUGH A LOT OF BATS IN A YEAR AND CANT IMAGINE WHAT THAT # WOULD

BE IF I HIT REGULAR BALLS ALL THE TIME. I HIT 3-600 BALLS EVERY WEEK AND USE

AN OLD WORTH EST IF I AM NOT BREAKING IN A NEW BAT. (50-100 SWINGS

DEPENDING ON THE BRAND) EVILS ARE NICE BALLS, BUT FOR B.P. THE NX3 IS THE

BEST OUT THERE BY FAR.

STILL LIKE YOUR B.P. BALLS THE BEST KEVIN. WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO HAVE MORE 2 COLOR NX3

AVAILABLE? SHOWS AS OUT OF STOCK ON WEB SITE? MULTILAYERS ARE FUN TO HIT, GOT 2 DOZEN

OF YOUR TATTOO VERSION BEFORE NAPLES TO HIT B.P. WITH. AND DENTED A LIGHT AT

DIAMONDPLEX IN WINTER HAVEN AGAIN....... FORGOT TO SAY 44/375 NX3 DON'T LIKE THE 52 CORS

AS I TEND TO OVERSWING AND GET INTO BAD HABITS. (I GOT PLENTY OF THOSE WITHOUT ADDING

OVERSWINGING TO THE LIST....LOL!)

KUDOS FOR SSUSA USING THE ROCK AT THE WINTER NATIONALS THIS PAST WEEKEND IN NAPLES. I

DIDN'T HEAR ONE COMPLAINT THE WHOLE WEEKEND. OF COURSE THE FIELDS BEING 325" EVENS IT

OUT A BIT. AS TO JETHRO USING ALANS BALLS IN HIS HITTING CLUB IN TENNESSEE, THOSE BALLS

ARE MORE LIKE A ROCK THAN A STOTE. (MICROCELL COVER) DIFFERENT COVER THAN A ROCK BUT

STILL GO LIKE STINK!! I HAVE A FEW OF THEM IN MY B.P. BALLS WHEN I WANT TO BREAK IN A BAT

QUICK. (AND PUMP UP MY EGO....LOL!)

Discussion: Evil B.P. 52+ Softballs

TO KEVIN AND JON, I HAVE HIT BOTH AND FOR MY MONEY THE NX3 IS THE WAY TO GO. AT

WOODLAWN IN ST PETE THEY HAVE A LOT OF THE EVIL BALLS, AND THEY ARE FUN TO HIT, HOWEVER

THEY SOAK UP MOISTURE OVER TIME AND THE COVER DETERIORATES, JUST AS ANY OTHER BALL

DOES....EXCEPT THE TATTOO NX3. I HAVE ORDERED 6 DOZEN OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS AND THE

FIRST ONES STILL HIT AS WELL AS THE NEWEST ONES. WHEN I SAY HIT, I MEAN HIT A LOT. I HIT AT

LEAST 2 TIMES A WEEK, A MINIMUM OF 100 SWINGS. I ALSO HIT IN MY FRONT FIELD OFF OF A SOFT

TOSS WHEELER DEALER MACHINE. ABOUT A THIRD OF THEM LAND OVER THE FENCE INTO THE COW

PASTURE NEXT DOOR. YOU CAN IMAGINE THE NEED TO GIVE THE OCCASIONAL BALL A GOOD

BATH....LOL! THE FANTASTIC THING ABOUT THE NX3 IS YOU CAN THROW THEM IN A GARBAGE CAN,

TURN THE HOSE ON THEM, ADD SOME DAWN, AND SCRUB THE DIRT OFF OF THEM TILL THEY

ALMOST LOOK NEW WITH NO DETRIMENTAL EFFECT WHAT SO EVER!!! THEY ALSO FLY AS GOOD AS

ANY GAME BALL. YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED IN EITHER, BUT THE NX3 HAS MY VOTE!

Discussion: Looking for a Senior League Rule

IN THE LOCAL LEAGUE THAT I PLAY IN HERE IN WINTER HAVEN, ITS PICK UP GAMES UNTILL

NOVEMBER, THEN A REAL LEAGUE WITH A DRAFT ETC UNTILL MARCH. (SNOWBIRD SEASON). DURING

THESE PICKUP GAMES (SOMETIMES 3 TEAM GAMES) IS WHEN I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE WALKS. I

ACTUALLY GOT INTO A BIT OF A VERBAL ALTERCATION WITH A PITCHER LAST YEAR, WHEN THE TEAM

I WAS ON WAS DOWN 15 RUNS IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 7TH INNING, 2 OUTS AND NO RUNNERS ON.

THE WHOLE TEAM IN THE FIELD WAS YELLING "PITCH TO HIM!" I HAVE YET TO HIT A 16 RUN HOMER

TO WIN THE GAME IN MY 40 PLUS YEARS OF SOFTBALL, AND YET, THE FIRST PITCH WAS 15 FEET IN

THE AIR AND LANDED 2 FEET OUTSIDE..... HENCE MY SUBSEQUENT DISGRUNTLEMENT....LOL! I DON'T

EXPECT A DOUGHNUT ON EVERY PITCH, JUST GET IT TO WHERE I COULD REACH IT WITHOUT A

BROOM HANDLE. NOW THAT SAID, DURING THE ALL IMPORTANT "LEAGUE" LOL!, WALK ME,

ITS A FREE SINGLE IN MY MIND. THERE WAS A PARTICULAR INNOVATIVE SOLUTION ONE GAME THIS

PAST FALL. I HIT FOR ALL THREE TEAMS BECAUSE THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS (31). THAT WAS A FUN

DAY. EVERYBODY PITCHED TO ME CAUSE THEY WANTED ME TO GET A SWING FOR THEIR TEAM.

12-13 WITH 9 AS I RECALL. I GUESS IT BOILS DOWN TO HAVING FUN AT ALL TIMES AND BEING

SERIOUS AT THE APPROPRIATE TIME.

WOLFMAN, HOW MANY PEOPLE DOES THAT 4K COVER? ITS NOT JUST THE TOURNY WEEKEND BUT ALL THE LOGISTICAL BS

LEADING UP TO IT. 74 TOURNAMENTS ON THE SCHEDULE TIMES DOUBLE THE EXAMPLE $ MEANS THEY WOULD NET JUST

UNDER 600K FOR THE YEAR. DIVIDED BY HOW MANY PEOPLE, MINUS HOW MANY PLANE TICKETS, HOTELS ETC. EVEN VEGAS

WHERE THEY USE A "GOOD" BALL (F'N ROCKET IF YOU ASK ME... FUN TO HIT, NOT TO FIELD...) AT 500 TEAMS THEY ONLY

GROSS $372,500. OR APPROX 60K. WAAAAY TOO MANY WHINY OLD FARTS TO HERD AROUND FOR ME TO WORK FOR THAT... I

WATCHED THE FLORIDA HALF CENTURY THIS PAST WEEKEND HERE IN WINTER HAVEN. YES IT WAS HOT. AND MUGGY. WATCHED

MORE THAN ONE PERSON TURN AND DAMN NEAR CUSS OUT THE UMPIRE CAUSE THEY "FLEW OUT". SAME STOTE BALL AS

SSUSA TOURNAMENTS. NO WONDER UMPS ARE CRUSTY...LOL! NOT THEIR FAULT. I THINK WE OWE SSUSA A BIG DEBT OF

GRATITUDE FOR PUTTING UP WITH OUR OLD WHINY ASSES, AND PROVIDING A SERVICE THAT WE ALL ENJOY. NO I'M NOT

AFFILIATED, HELL I DIDNT EVEN KNOW ABOUT SENIOR BALL TILL LESS THAN 3 YEARS AGO.

GO BACK TO ALUMINUM AND BLUE DOTS.... YEA I KNOW IM DREAMING...LOL! THE PROBLEM WITH THE COMPOSITE END CAP DILEMA IS THERE IS NO WAY TO REMOVE THE FORMING MANDREL WITHOUT THE ENDCAP HOLE. THE ONLY FIX IS TO PRESSURE FIT A COMPOSITE DOME AND GLASS OVER IT TO MAKE THE BATS ONE PIECE. EVEN AT THAT THERE WOULD BE SOME "INDUSTRIOUS" INDIVIDUALS THAT WOULD FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET AROUND IT. I RECOMMEND A TITANIUM BAT THAT CHECKS RIGHT AT 1.21. BUY ONE BAT AND IT LASTS FOR A LIFETIME..... ANOTHER PIPE DREAM!!!

IF YOU DO THE MATH ON A 50 TEAM TOURNAMENT @$500 PER TEAM, AT FOUR COMPLEXES, THEY PROBABLY NET ABOUT $4000 AFTER OUTSIDE EXPENSES ( FIELDS, BALLS, ROOMS, UMPS, ETC). OUT OF THIS THEY COVER AIRFARE FOR OFFICIALS FROM SSUSA AND SALARY AND ROOMS AND HOME OFFICE EXPENSES ETC. HELL, I THINK THEY ARE WORKING CHEAP. AS TO THE BALLS, I WOULD PAY EXTRA FOR A GOOD BALL TO BE USED, BUT WE ARE STUCK WITH THE INFAMOUS STOTE. JUST BE GLAD YOU DON'T HAVE TO HIT IT IN CENTRAL FLORIDA LIKE I DO ALL THE TIME....LOL! (PERHAPS YOU ARE ALSO IN FLORIDA, SORRY FOR THOSE OF YOU IN THE SAME HOT HUMID BOAT AS I ) YANK1 IS CORRECT IN SAYING THERE IS ALWAYS A WORSE ALTERNATIVE. THE BALLS IN DALTON WERE PURE PUMPKINS. WORST BALL I HAVE HIT SINCE THE OLD CORK CENTER SB-12 BACK IN THE 70'S. ANY GAME AFTER 10:00 FORGET ABOUT IT!!! AS A TEAM WE MIGHT HAVE HIT 10-12 FOR THE WHOLE TOURNEY. YOU HAD TO HIT IT DEAD NUTS PERFECT TO GET IT OUT.

FIELDS ARE VERY NICE. THE 6 NATURAL TURF FIELDS ARE 275 DOWN THE LINES OUT TO 315 IN DEAD

CENTER. THE SMALLER ARTIFICIAL TURF FIELDS (5) ARE 300 DOWN THE LINES OUT TO ABOUT 340-345.

AND THE LARGE FIELDS (4) ARE BASEBALL DIMS AT 320 DOWN THE LINES OUT TO 385 IN DEAD CENTER. THE

ACCESS FOR OUT OF TOWNERS IS GREAT AS YOU CAN WATCH THE PLANES COME IN AND OUT OF SANFORD

AIRPORT. DONT PUSH THIS THOUGH "GRAY HITTER59", CAUSE YOU KNOW I LIVE ONLY A MILE OR TWO FROM

AUBURNDALE AND DIAMONDPLEX IN WINTER HAVEN.....LOL! I COULDN'T HAVE MY COOKOUTS ON

TOURNAMENT SATURDAY NIGHTS !!! NICE TOURNAMENT IN TENNESSEE BY THE WAY!

Discussion: Best lower back support for slowpitch softball

I HAVE PLAYED WITH A BAD BACK SINCE MY LATE 20'S. TWO BACK SURGERIES AT L4-L5 AND I AM STILL OUT HERE WHACKING IT AROUND. ONE OF THE REASONS IS I ALWAYS WEAR A BACK BRACE. THE BEST ONE I HAVE FOUND IS ON BETTERBRACES.COM . CLICK ON THE "ALL BACK BRACES" CATEGORY AND LOOK FOR THE SHORTS AND BRACE ALL IN ONE. ITS THE ONLY ONE I HAVE FOUND THAT STAYS IN PLACE ALL DAY AND REMAINS COMFORTABLE AS WELL. COMPRESSION SHORTS WITH KIND OF AN OVERGROWN WAISTBAND BRACE, WITH AN ADJUSTABLE EXTRA BRACE THAT CAN BE MOVED UP OR DOWN AND TIGHTENED OR LOOSENED USING HEAVY DUTY VELCRO. I JUST RECEIVED TWO NEW PAIRS FOR THIS YEAR. SIZING RUNS FAIRLY ACCURATE, JUST DON'T ERR ON THE SMALL SIDE. SHORTS EVEN HAVE A FLY IN THEM!!
