What is the possibility of the Western Nationals being in the Reno/Carson City area? Casinos are back in operation, why not softball?

Benji4, you should quit your day job and work the comedy circuit. Like all good comedy there's more than a hint of truth. Sad but true.

Discussion: Please, a story from anyone! Anything but Corona, Corona, Corona!

My biggest achievement in a game is my most embarrassing. First inning in the loser bracket game playing for third place and beyond in Las Vegas.
Our clean up hitter hits a three run homer, couple of batters later another solo shot, I come up and hit a home run, 60 AAA game and we are at our home run limit after the first inning.
The game is nip and tuck and we go into the bottom of the seventh trailing by one. The first two hitters fly out, I come up and hit a home run, which counted as an out, results, game over, we lose.
I had hit two home runs, gotten one RBI and a walk off home run resulting in a loss.
Worst part, it was the only two home runs I hit all year. The seven hour drive back home was not fun.

Discussion: Reno 60's tournament

I just heard through the grapevine that SSUSA was going to announce their decision on the upcoming Reno Tournament on May 19.
Is this decision going to be a go or no go decision.
Being that the 60's division still have players who work and need to take time off, just like most employers they want advanced notice.
This ping pong effect puts a strain on us 60"s players requesting time off and the have the possibility of having the tournament cancelled and vacation time wasted.
Please directors, I know what some of what you are going through, but please realize what we are facing also.

Discussion: Reno

I looked at Reno for Air B n B yesterday, lots of properties available and some are very reasonable COMPARED TO THE HOTELS WITH THEIR SERVICE FEES.
The only thing you have to look out for is their cancellation policies which vary from property to property.
I don't do hotels anymore due to the resort fees charged by hotels that started off in Las Vegas.

Discussion: Corona Virus (COVID-19)

I plan on playing in Las Vegas next month. I'm not staying at a casino but an AirBNB. I work in outside sales and have been playing in our local league for two weeks now. If you have an issue being in a casino atmosphere, don't gamble, be vigilant like you would in any other public area. I hope there is no extreme issues taken by the SSUSA, yes I'm concerned but practical, I'm looking forward to fist bumping my opponents after a game well played.

Discussion: New glove

I put a lot of emphasis on how the glove is broken in. It takes a lot to break in a glove especially the way I do it. I got a new Rawlings 14" last year but am still currently using my 15" Rawlings gamer which is showing a lot of age.
The way to make sure the ball won't pop out is to have a real deep pocket. Not only does the hinge need to be flexible but the top of the glove has to be very pliable too.I do that by constantly bending the top fingers of the glove down towards the heel. As you do that the glove really opens up giving maximum pocket exposure to the ball.
Once broken in the glove will cradle the ball and eliminate the popping out you described.

I received my replacement 14" after waiting 3 months. I now have 75 swings on it and everything so far looks fine and the bat seems to be opening up.

Discussion: DUDLEY 2019 LIGHTNING HOTW

Contacted Direct Sports about returning my 14" HOTW
They referred me to contact Dudley directly,I did so, Dudley gave me an RA number and told me I had to pay to ship the bat back to them.
I'm not happy with Direct Sports not taking care of their sale and Dudley not picking up the shipping charges.

Discussion: DUDLEY 2019 LIGHTNING HOTW

Finally got to hit my 14" after ordering it in January and receiving it March 1.
First off this bat is HOT.
Second, it broke in 12 swings. I'm a AAA player with very seldom power.
I will be contacting Direct Sports on Monday morning and update my experience with them, stay tuned

Discussion: Freiberg infracture

I was diagnosed by my podiatrist that I have Freiberg infracture on both of my feet.
The first course of action is to wear immobility footwear on both feet to keep my feet from flexing at the toes for six weeks.
Has anyone had this with recommended treatment of immobility? If so has it worked and if not what was the second course of action. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.
