Not interested in tournament ball with Legends. Already locked in with tournament team. More interested in senior league availability.

Discussion: Ohio Move

Starting the first part of June, will be spending my summers (June thru Sept/Oct) in Centerville OH.

Any senior softball activity in this area? Have been playing senior ball for the last 20 years or so which would include league as well as a large amount of tournament experience (most recently at the AAA level).

Would anyone out there have any idea as to what 65 teams plan on attending Aurora? Have heard rumblings that participation for this age group could be somewhat lean.

Anyone out there in senior softball cyberspace know anything about the site "softballbatscheap.com"? For example, they currently have new Mikens anywhere from $90-$100 less than most if not all other sites. Their site provides no phone contact nor any kind of address. Apparently the only way to contact them is via email, which I recently did asking for phone information. To date, no reply. Starting to get skeptical as time goes on regarging their legitimacy. Would be interested if anyone has had dealings with this operation.

Discussion: Texas State Championships - How were the fields and other Facilities?

SSUSA and all other responsible parties should be ashamed of themselves for sanctioning a tournament of this level at such a slipshod facility (in terms of both the fields and the way guests were treated). Have never been to a tournament where non playing guests had to pay to get in ($5 a pop); have never been to a tournament where my equipment bag (and my wife's carryall) were subjected to search to insure no liquids, food or whatever other contraband they suspected were being smuggled in; have never been to a tournament where I was concerned about my vehicle being broken into or even being there when I finished.

Needless to say, the TD/SSUSA got a sweet deal to hold this tournament in the ghetto. Being charged $500 plus to play seems a bit unconscionable. That on top of the take from non player admissions and overpriced concessions made for a sweet payday for those holding and running the event. I, on the other hand, don't believe I received an adequate/reasonable return on my investment. As such, hell will probably freeze over before I go back.

So what the hell is the problem with Keist Park in Dallas where the tournament has been held for the last several years?

Ah, I get it, the Houston facility, besides sounding like a lovely place to play before it gets too dark, is, indeed, more centrally located in terms of attracting a variety of teams from some of our bordering states (OK and AR) in addition to possible entrants from TN and KS?

What a joke. Wonder what Rhodes Scholar's brainchild this was?

As in every year I have played in this, for lack of a better term, tournament, the SPA powers that be seem to think it's none of your damn business until the 11th hour what time anyone plays.

Frankie:

I presume you know who this is.

In any event, I want to emphasize this is strictly an embryonic thought at the current time; just a fishing expedition at this point. If and when the time comes, Ed will know. Until then, Mr. Ed needs to know nothing.

I'm sure I can count on your confidentiality for the time being.

In the embryonic stages of contemplating a move to the Fairfield Glade area in Tennessee. Located roughly 75 mi west of Knoxville and 100 plus east of Nashville.

Have played with the Dallas Spurs 60 AAA for the past 5-6 years. Just curious at this point of team availability in the area.

Received a "new" Ultra II (1.21) from Miken several weeks ago to replace a "grey" that broke with less than 200 swings. Have at least 300 swings on it already. Believe at this point I would have better luck swinging a wooden fence post.

Guess I'll contact Miken to see if they'll man up on this one. If not, guess my Miken days are over.
