60 Major team based out of NJ looking for 2 or 3 position players. Would like to find 2 outfielders and an infielder. We are looking to play about 6 or 7 more tournaments this year. No disrespect to anyone, but we do not need another full time C or DH. If interested, please respond to this email...mboone@sweetconstruction.com

Discussion: Ray Ray has passed

Very sorry to hear of Ray Ray's passing. He was a great competitor, and an even better friend and gentleman. I appreciated the talks we would have, not only about softball, but any topic that would happen to come up during conversation...he will be greatly missed.

Our condolences to his family, and all of his softball family, may he rest in peace.

Discussion: Ridge Hooks Passing

I offer my and my teams heart felt condolences to the SPA family, and most specifically to Ridge's beloved wife Ann and grandson Brandon, upon his passing. As a fellow New Jerseyian, we bonded right from the start of my Senior Softball career, and valued his friendship...he will be deeply missed.

Our thoughts and prayers to all that are associated with Ridge, may he rest in peace in his Saviors arms.

Warmest regards,
Michael

Discussion: Ken Lipinski

Very sorry to hear of Ken's passing, the softball world will surely miss one of its great ambassadors. I, personally, always enjoyed the time that Ken and I had speaking about softball, and life in general, not to mention our team battles on the diamond. Our most sincere sympathy and condolences to Bunny and the family.

Discussion: 60 Major Team based in NJ needs players

Looking for 2-3 players that will commit for at least the balance of the season. Looking for OF, and Middle IF, not DH's and Catchers. You must be available to play in the upcoming ISSA World Championships in Richmond VA, dates of play are Aug 10th-12th; and about three or four others including the Las Vegas Worlds. If interested, and a high caliber player who gets along with others well (no hot-heads please), respond to this post with your contact information. Thank you.

Discussion: 2014 Roster...team needed

I am posting this for a friend of mine, because there is a problem with him accessing the Message Board himself...

Guy5- 61 yr. old NJ player looking for good 60 team to join for 2014 season. Most recently with Bayada 60 Major which has broken up. Played with Promotion/Mizuno, Diamond Pro and for Michael Boone @ Sweet Construction during the last 11 years. Very good complimentary player . Singles hitter who bats in the 650 to 750 range. Play corner infield positions and catch. After double knee replacements, in Nov. 2011 I could be ready to get back in the outfield next year. Willing to make firm commitment to team of guys who play hard and like to enjoy themselves. Please contact me at 908-884-6324 or e-mail guystragis@msn.com.

To all...I am sad to report that Dave's father lost his fight last evening, and has moved on to Heaven. Although I did not know Dave's dad personally, he seemed like a real fighter, right to the end. For myself and the Sweet Construction Softball Club, we offer Dave, Fran, and the entire family, our heart felt condolences.

Discussion: Lost Glove - Crabtown Classic

To anyone that was around when the tournament abruptly ended this past Sunday, one of my players left a Wilson A2K fielders glove (I believe there was a batting glove with it) at the field. It was probably a bit wet from the buckets that came down. If anyone happened to pick it up (IMS, Eagle Tile?) please contact me. If you do have it, we will be in Raleigh next weekend, and Manassas the following weekend, if you could let me know you have it, and bring it with you, it would be greatly appreciated!

Discussion: IN MEMORIAM • JIM SHERMAN

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of "Sherm". I was fortunate enough to meet, obtain training from, and spend time in conversation with Jim, albeit much to briefly, during my association with the SSUSA. Jim taught me many things, and I am better off for it, as I was able to utilizize his training to assist in saving the life of one of our fellow players. I will be forever grateful for Jim's training and, although I will miss him, I know that he is finally at peace and without suffering from the terrible disease that struck him, but did not defeat him. I am sure that Jim is probably batting lead-off for his new Heaven team, and enjoying himself and the game he loved, to the fullest. Rest in peace my friend, although we have big shoes to fill, we will attempt to carry on your legacy as you would want us to.

To Sherm's wife Linda, and the rest of his family, our deepest condolences for your loss of Jim. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
