Discussion: Tulsa Ok

Thanks for asking Sr34 (as well as all the others that have inquired along the way), it is greatly appreciated by me as his friend, and I am sure by Andy as well. Andy is doing ok, feeling a bit better now. They have run a series of tests, blood work, etc., and it does not appear that he had a heart attack. He has some follow up blood work that he is waiting on, and goes to see a cardiologist on Friday to, hopefully, find a reason why the incident took place. Again, "thank you" for your concern.

Warmest regards,
Michael Boone

Discussion: Prayers for Greg Holden

Thanks for the info Rich.

We have played against your team a number of times, and I am certain that we all know who Greg is.

It is an unfortunate event when a member of our senior softball "family" suffers a loss as this...Please pass along our sympathies to Greg and his family...our prayers will certainly go out to them.

Discussion: Einstein

This message board should be used as a forum to express our questions and concerns about our sport, not to be used as someone's attempt to mock or poke fun at one of our members. We need to police this ourselves, as just one means to maintain this as a legitimate organization, and attempt to better our sport in the process. Einstein has the right to pose questions or statements about "altered bats" or any other topic (concerning the sport) that he feels compelled to discuss, and we have every right not to acknowledge him, or discuss a particular topic with him. That said, the only real way that we will not have an "altered bat" controversy is for the bat companies to supply bats for each tournament, and those bats would be the only ones allowed to be used. At the very least, bats should be supplied at the National Tournament events.

This posting isn't about bats though, it's about one of our fellow "Senior Softball" players that feels compelled to post messages under the id of "EB", and sign his name as "einstein". It seems the "EB" cannot pen a message without referring to a "fart". It's a real shame that this "gentleman" has to make a sophomoric attempt at humor...one that I am sure is of no interest to the vast majority of the other members of this organization. It's also a shame that this moron has too much time on his hands to write and contribute something intelligent to this message board.

I do not know Einstein. I do not know where he plays, what division, or what age group. What I do know is that he doesn't deserve some coward attempting to pose as him. If "EB" has something personal against Einstein, then (EB) provide him with you real name and contact information, and take it up outside of this message board...none of us really want to read, or are impressed by, how eloquently you use the word "fart".

I suppose, EB, that you do attempt to write some meaningful messages, but every time you pound on your keyboard your lower GI tract acts up and the only way to find "relief" is to spell it "fart" out in a message. It's sad, and troublesome, that "fart" is the word that you choose to use most often in your postings. You may want to think twice about that, in the future. After all, by definition, a fart is a term (albeit slang) for "somebody who is considered to be unpleasant, boring, or irritating". Well, I guess if the shoe fits...

Discussion: SEATTLE WORLD'S - Session #1 Scores & Brackets

We would like to give our congratulations to the Road Dogs for their win, and winning the "Triple Grand Slam"...quite an accomplishment! You guys played a fantastic tournament, and were well deserving of the championship.

We'd also like to thank the other participants that were in our bracket...it was great playing against you, the competition was wonderful, and we look forward to meeting up with all of you again!

Discussion: Congratulations to the Milwaukee Merchants

We wanted to send our congratulations to the Milwaukee Merchants for winning the 50 Major division of the Eastern Nationals, in Lansing, this past weekend. Good luck in Seattle, and against the Western winners, the Roaddogs...bring home a championship for all of us in the East!

Discussion: Tired of the Ultra

Understandable Gary, but the sheer quantity of bats that are breaking, without much use, is astonishing compared to the other brands. When consumers are left holding the bag, or in this case the broken bat, there is something wrong. After all, if there wasn't, then Miken wouldn't have eliminated their replacement program...everything for a reason! Believe me, I am in no way advocating a law suit, or anything to do with attorneys, I just believe that if you're spending $200 - $250 on a bat it should last longer than a few weeks!

Discussion: Tired of the Ultra

We're getting a little tired of them as well. I believe that we have broken 17 or 18 of them this year...it's quite frustrating! I have heard of other players and teams with the same complaint. Maybe it's time we make a statement to Miken...did anyone say "class action suite" for defective products?

From myself and the players of the Sweet Construction Softball Club, we would like to congratulate Fran Dowell on her appointment to the position of Executive Director of SSUSA...an appointment truly deserved!

Through my personal years of association with Frannie, I have always found her to be the one person always willing to go the extra mile, just out of her love for the organization, senior softball, and all persons that are associated with this crazy passion of ours.

Good luck Frannie...you're the best!!!

I would like to congratulate Chicago Classics Red for winning the 50's Major division, and congratulate all of the other participants (including my own team mates) for a great tournament! It was nice to meet other players from across the country that have the same common goal and interests...going out and having fun, while having the opportunity to extend their childhood by playing the game that they love so much, and possibly winning a tournament along the way! I would especially like to thank all of the SSUSA/SSWC directors for their hard work and dedication to putting this and all of their other tournaments together, during the year.
