Discussion: qualiying team doesn't go to Worlds

Mark, in order to play in the World, the player has to be on the qualifying roster that the coach turns in to S/S. I talked to Tony & he could not make it to Phoenix this weekend for the Last Qualifier, which will be the roster that we will use for the World. C U in PHNX.

no problem Mark, we will see you in Phoenix. USSSA is a different creature, the pitching took awhile to get use to & some could not adjust. The way you were knocking the ball out, I'm sure you won the New Mexico State Tournament. Who finished 2nd?

We have been playing 55 AAA for the last 4 years & have not run across many teams @ the World that would us their 3 h/r's. The game is won by base hits & defense. By changing the rule, it's going to invite the major players to move down & change the game. If you want the homeruns play major & higher & leave the teams that play good offense & defense alone. SSUSA if you change the rule, you need to start keeping track on how many balls are going over the fence so they can be moved up because they do not belong in AAA.

We are toying with the idea of having a 60 team next year, we have 9 players from this years team that can go 60's next year. Looking for players that love the game & will be able to travel the state of Az, Las Vegas, Silver City, El Paso & maybe southern CA.
We usually play 1 tournament a month, sometimes more if we have enough players.

any time the base coach touches the runner regardless if intentional or unintentional, it becomes a dead ball & the runner is out.

Discussion: Grand Slam but didn't touch 1B

as a coach I'm always watching the bases touched on a HR. (1)what happens if the batter/runner touched the outside base(this base is used only when there's a play @ 1st) is he out? (2) if the base runner is forced to touch a base & walks out of the baseline & then goes back to touch the next base after a lot of yelling, is he out?

Discussion: Whats the rule?

what it comes down to regardless what you do on defense the following inning that last batter to bat in the previous inning has to go to 2nd if not able to the batter that batted before him has to go to 2nd with 1 out.(period)
Stick8 you are right & so is butch17 once the runner reaches 3b he can have a courtesy runner or sub.

If you're going to sub you can do it for defense but the last batter has to be able to reenter & go to 2nd base, if the last batter can not go to 2nd base for whatever reason, the next batter that batted goes to 2nd with 1 out.

Gentelmen, the rule reads the last batter to bat in the last inning. It does not matter what you do in the next inning. If you use a sub you better be sure the last batter can re-enter. Otherwise you will be using the next batter in the order with 1 out.

1 more thing that SSUSA forgot to say, if the last batter is not able to run the previous batter before him will go to 2nd base with 1 out.

Hey Mark, there's no over running the bases to be safe. Rule book reads that the runner has to retouch any base(s) that he touched before he can return to tag up. Who's to say that the umpire saw the runner miss the base because he is watching the fielder make the catch, to be safe the runner should touch the bases going back.
