Discussion: Batter Box Rule

This is a tough one for sure. This rule makes no sense as histircally since the inception of the batters box rule you were ok as long as both feet stayed in the box. Either do away with the batters box or stay with the rule that's been in place for centuries (I exaggerate)

There are tournaments from last year and previous years that still dont have winners posted. I would not expect to much her guys, it's been this way since inception.

Discussion: New rule on shaved bats

hawkjms...well said. Where do we draw the line. If we are talking about safety, then let's look at all aspects. ASA balls, aluminum bats, proper rankings, the list goes on and on. But I dont think we are talking about safety here, becuase it costs money to be safe, and there is not one organazation that is truly willing to to have this conversation to it's core. BTW, many, many pitchers get hurt with non-shaved bats way more than shaved bats. Yes, you look good talking about it, but fix the entire problem and not a very small portion of it. Just my .02.

General question: why dont tournament directors update on line results during (or even after) the tourney? Is it an SSUSA requirement? If not, why?

Discussion: Llerandi Custom Gloves. Llerandigloves.com

I see many gloves on this website for almost $300, yet you bash the store bought $300 gloves? What makes your $300 gloves premium buys? BTW, you have some sick gloves.

Discussion: Pinch Hitter

Thanks everyone, this was an interesting conversation. So you know, pitcher B came into the game for a defensive player and not pitcher A (although he did come in to pitch). So it would appear all rules were followed.

Discussion: Pinch Hitter

Scenario: new pitcher comes into the game top of 5. At the bottom half pitcher that entered the game in the top half is first to bat. Team subs for a pinch hitter (I thought you had to make a plate appearance before you could get a pinch hitter), team announces the number of the pinch hitter and he is entered into the game. The team then decides that they want the pitcher to bat, my guess is they new there was a rules violation. Here's my question, once the pinch hitter is announced aren't they required to bat? And in this case it's possibly an out because the pitcher is required to bat. Thoughts?

Discussion: Player awarded a base

I read this rule as two bases, however, I believe the intent is two bases from where they started. Only second base would be awarded.

Officially it would be an error. If a reasonable attempt is made and not caught it is an error. Scorekeepers discretion however.

I for one have no problem with teams using music to get "hyped", however, when the game starts it should not be heard outside of their own dugout. Just my .02

Discussion: 55 Major+ Teams

I'm curious, with over 30 55 Major+ teams, why do we see the same 2-4 teams at every tournament, is it the cost, lack of qualified umpires, location, or maybe there really are not 30+ teams? Why even play if we are going to play the same teams time after time? Thanks in advance.
