I'm trying to buy some SSUSA tournament-style Trump Stote softballs (AK-SS-375). I can't find them for sale. Does anyone know anything about this?

Good luck finding a team!

Robo2,
I'm not sure what bats taits was talking about. The gray Combat that I was talking about is the "Anaconda Original Da Bomb".

Robo2,
I will tell you that I hit one of the longest balls I have ever hit with the gray Combat Da Bomb.
The yellow Combat doesn't come close to that bat. I don't know about newer Combats than that.
Compared to the Miken Ultra II, I can't say with certainty which is better. But if I had to pick one for a crucial at-bat, I would take the Miken Ultra II.

FYI, Andy Smith is the best hitter I know. "I am able to hit the ball too" is an understatement.
Also, I hate trying to hit off of this guy when he pitches.

Sometimes, upon reflection, one regrets what one has impulsively posted. I apologize to gary c for name-calling.

I have been reading/particpating in this message board for some years. I am glad to see Einstein back, even though many people feel the need to fight against him. I am totally bummed out to see the anonymous trouble-instigator Gary C allowed back. As a freedom-loving American, I can see that it is righteous for him/her to be able to express his/her opinion. An obvious fact is that if the SSUSA rules do not suit his/her preferences, then he/she has the option to (please) go play in other tournaments which have rules which do satisfy his/her preferences. Omar and others, I don't know ANYONE who has expressed to me the desire to dumb down the bat/ball combo (which Omar has claimed is responsible for an alleged decline in senior softball membership - disregarding the record attendance at SSUSA tournaments) or anyone who has said that they quit senior softball because of the lack of the defensive part of the game.

Gary, I'm not trying to disprove your point, just saying that not all people getting pinch runners are faking it.
Mad Dog, one has to find a compromise, right? I don't play infield, just catcher and starting to play again in the outfield. When hitting, I try to watch out for throws from SS or 3B as I run to first.

Discussion: What is Senior Softball to you?

"Joe, you have made some great points. I like a good debate every now and then myself, but for crying out loud. Stop taking every thread on here as an opportunity to jump on your soapbox"

Pricer, it wasn't Einstein who started the bat/ball discussion. It was E4/E6.
"Very interesting, thank you guys.
I notice no one plays Senior Softball for the Lively Bats and Balls. "

It should be obvious that no one would be talking about "competition", "camaradrie", "conditioning",
"championships", etc. if we were supposed to be showing up somewhere and paying big bucks to play bingo.

Gary19, I am a person who currently would need a pinch-runner after hitting a double or triple (however unlikely that might be). Because of the blood thinner I am taking, I can't risk getting hit by a line drive while running the bases (by doctor's "orders"). So please reconsider whether this is "absurd" or not.

Pitcher55, I'm not trying to tell you "where to go". :-)
I am simply pointing out the obvious facts that attendance in SSUSA tournaments is UP recently (presumably due to a nice match between what the organization is offering and what the customers are looking for), and that there are organizations that provide what you apparently are looking for. I hope that you and all of your similarly-minded players find exactly what you are looking for in one of these other organizations.
Those of us who LOVE the SSUSA rules will miss you, but will be happy that you are playing under rules that you endorse.

pitcher55, SSUSA knows it's NOT what we want. That's why they are seeing record numbers of teams in their big tournaments lately. People like you who want to play with crappy bats and/or balls are free/welcome to attend tournaments put on by organizations who restrict the equipment according to your desires. In fact, many of us encourage you to attend those tournaments.

Hi Omar,
I respectfully disagree with your claim that older senior players are opting not to play tournament ball with "new" bats and balls (I'm not sure why you say they are "new" to guys who have been playing for decades). I know at least 100 local guys who play tournament ball, and I'm not aware of ANY of them who would give up their Ultra IIs (except for durability reasons). These guys even use them in BP - I see it every Saturday morning.
