SSUSA STAFF: Please accept my sincere apology for starting this thread. I literally don't know what I was thinking. You guys do a great job! Thanks for this cool website and message board.

DesertGuy
On further reflection, I can see the truth of what you are saying.

DCPete,
Those are some good suggestions.
Please explain how your plan prevents winning teams from morphing into new teams that aren't recognized as winners (I hope it does).
I'm not trying to sound all-knowing, it just seems like this is the usual problem.
Thanks,
Jano

Discussion: RESPONSE TO MESSAGE THREADS REMOVED

It's regrettable that the "removed" threads can't be examined for interested parties to see whether it was reasonable that they were removed.

I feel for the SSUSA STAFF who, probably thinking they were providing a valuable service to Senior Softball Players, instead have to police a chaotic war zone.

On the other hand, I have generally found Einstein's posts (though sometimes repetitious) to make sense.

If "repetitious" posts are a crime, I would think that Gary19/The Nex Generation/Dirty is the King of this offense. If "irrelevant" posts are a crime, I don't think I have ever seen such a post from Einstein.

I was surprised that SSUSA eliminated any possibility of direct response to their killing of threads when they forbade the opportunity to respond directly to their announcement (by killing that thread).

Please don't pee in the pool! And don't obstruct those who try to keep the water clean!

Thanks,
Jano23

Like Einstein, I am not interested in having to hit softballs that don't fly. I found the balls in Phoenix flew fine if you hit them right, about the same as the balls in Reno.

Discussion: PHOENIX BALL FIELDS

Dave,
I see that some 50s teams are currently scheduled to play at Victory Lane on Friday morning, Oct. 24. Will we experience unusual bat restrictions in those games?
Thanks.

Discussion: Pictures on website?

I just got my Phoenix Worlds photos from Jack. It was really easy and the photos are great. I just sent him an email (see his website: www.jacksactionshots.com), told him which pics I wanted, and received them hours later. After I mail him my check, I will have paid only $1.50 per photo - a super deal.

I have to guess that his problem is advertising, because his prices can't be beat.

That's so funny. I thought to myself if I ever got involved with this thread I would ask that question.
Ken, I think it is Klaatu, barada nikto. Good job.

Discussion: Ultra II break in period?

Hombre, the Ultra II hits pretty well out of the wrapper, but not as well as it does after it is broken in. I have hit HRs on the first swing, but I wouldn't want to use one in a tournament game without breaking it in first. For me, usually somewhere around the 50th swing I feel a snap/crackle/pop on one swing and it starts hitting way better after that. I would say that if you want it to perform at the highest level in games, you should break it in with about 50 swings first. If you want to get more game swings out of it, at the cost of lower performance for a while, then don't take any BP with it.

Discussion: Rule Question

I understand that the SSUSA (and other organizations?) has a rule which states that a player can only change teams once per year.

Say a player only plays in one division (e.g., 50AAA). The team he is on has played in a couple of qualifiers. Then the team disbands mid-season, and the player joins a new team at that time. Under the rule, is the player now on his first team of the season (meaning that he could change teams once more this season), or second team (meaning that he could not change teams again)?

The team I have been playing with disbanded (Full Count 50AAA). I'm looking for a new team, 50AAA or 50 Major. I live in southern California. Play outfield, high OBA, very good power.

Discussion: Patch from Phoenix Worlds????????

The last two tournaments (Phoenix and Winter Worlds), I tried to by an XXL t-shirt on the first day of the 50s. Both times they were already sold out. In Las Vegas, all they had left were Small. Evidently, they sold all this stuff earlier in the week, before the 50s arrived.
