Didn't millette play A/AA/major for 25 years plus? Don't think that's being scared to play the best and highest level

Not a fan of his antics at all he seems to like to stir the pot constantly though

Curly who use to pitch for Chief and all the Triple Crown/RES/FRS teams from the 90s and early 2000s?

If so this would be a huge pickup

Discussion: Tournament Results

In the last 5 plus years i've seen more and more people request online results in a timely manner. What did we all do with ourselves pre internet days? Pre Cell Phone Texting days? I know what I did, I called someone I knew that may have played in the tourney. Or better yet I waited for the Bi Monthly or quarterly Softball West, Softball Today, etc... Loved those magazines back in the day. Still have a few somewhere.

I ask why the urgency of the results? and why do we even care anymore? sheesh all of us have played the game way too long to even care about the end result. I'm happy to get on the hardwood and run around 20 minutes or on the ball field to play a game or two or three.

Unless???????? those that need that gratification and the pat on the back like seeing the results possibly? I've seen that a lot the last decade from 40 - 50 years old, lots of players who never sniffed a good A,B,C, or even D tourney team are now the greatest players on earth into their 40's, 50's, etc..... and probably never won during their pre 40 year old days.

I'm sure i'll get a lot of backlash, but its all good. Won't be the first time i've been lit up on a message board.

Discussion: What was to consensus on DBO Homerun rule after Rock N Roll Reno?

Only a home run swing???? I almost @@@@ my pants. I could expect to hear that from newbies that are in their early 20's just learning to hit a 10 mph pitch with a 12 foot bump.

but from 50/60 year olds????? If you have not learned to hit a grounder through the 3-4 or 5-6 hole by now I would be shocked hahahahahahahahahhah

Discussion: CAL STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

I remember when Calif had only one state tourney for Mens.

It would rotate from North to South each year and that was in the 90's.

But you also had to play in those state tourneys to validate your world berth then, so we had no choice but to go to So.Cal when they hosted.

SSUSA should rotate each year.

Discussion: Senior Softball is a Joke

Gale D: My question to you is "Would we be having this conversation if the awards package was better? Seems like there is a lot of anger built up inside from way back. Not just the handful of SSUSA tourneys your teams play in.

Over 10 years ago when our team was playing Usssa B tourneys up and down Cali and the West coast. One of our players got into a debate with myself and the other coach. He was really pissed off cuz he did not get an all tourney award. I told him he shouldn't be playing if he needs a little 11.00 trophy up his self esteem. He was hell bent on the subject. You know what??? We red tagged him the next season.

find a new hobby if you want the little awards to be a big thing in your life.

I play the game for the love of it. Bottom Line. Two Best Awards I ever recieved were: A Large Towel in Incline for taking 2nd place and a huge Travel bag for winning 1999 "B" Usssa State. Both are alive and well and have been used a couple hundred times. As for the trophies and shirts I have won I could do without them.

Bottom line Is I play the game for fun, not awards. I don't care if the entry fee is $200 or $495 the awards mean nothing.

Matter of fact the two World rings I have sit in a drawer collecting dust.
