Echo time......

I also have had the pleasure of playing with Gil and Dave - long time solid ball players & genuinely good people.

Congratulations to both.....

Good topic Steve - it's something I've mentioned before also......

If you were going to spend $10,000's (which is what each team spends to travel to, lodge, and enter) to enter a - let's say volleyball or basketball or soccer tournament that might have national aspirations and implications you sure would not want to use a ball that is 1/3 deflated during part of the day but is OK at other parts of the day - especially at crunch time.

To have a ball (equipment) standard that changes the quality of the game is just about unheard of in any sport.

Although the Rock is considered the upper tier when it comes to heat I think the Baden Fire is a fair playing ball cold and hot. I don't think it is fair for commercial considerations/affliations to undermine the quality, thereby changing the game......

Yes - we lost a HOF pitcher and frined a couple of years ago. Hit his head at home (dwelling) and the thinners worked against saving him.

That is a very good point.

jrd231 - I wonder if they could go back to dirt infields like Twin Creeks down the road.....

Would depend more I guess on winter schedule games as it's a pay to play complex with a cookie cutter franchise design.....

It's possible you didn't hit "post message" after you wrote up your post.....

Sometimes you can hit "post message" and the page kind of freezes and suspends the message - somewhere - but it will not show....

Discussion: Prayers for the Drechsler Family, Pace Softball Club

Prayers and good thoughts sent...

Didn't play them too often but one of the best was in SPA - 2 1/2 hours 34-33 game.

Whenever we ended up in the same place I'd like to go over and sit and chat with them - a good, entertaining group of guys....that team has been together for many years and they were a pretty tight group of guys...I'm sure - for them like losing a member of their family.

Condolences to all.....Pete

Although I no longer swing them (durability) I've seen this happen with other players 3 times. Never an old bat always almost new....

It's always in the same place on the handle.

One time two guys split the cost - bought on off the truck at game time - and 4 swings later - broken at that same spot on the handle - looks like cut off......

They went back and the vendor would not take the bat or replace.....I told them to call the credit card company and stop the purchase figuring that would get a result for them somewhere....don't know if they did that or not - they were amazed/perplexed/smokin' mad all at the same time....

There is a factory - manufacture problem there.....

Bob - not disputing you & know that you have a good swing - but off the tee does not seem like a good test - anybody with a little tee work placing the ball with the stitching/seam horizontal can look like Babe ****** Ruth and put on a home run derby/display using a tee...I think over time this ball will have it's +'s & -'s.....I have my own opinion on it and the marketing nitch. But since I don't have to use it it makes no difference.

Alan - Every day on the field is a good day regardless of wind in - out - or sideways and I'll take your word for the evaluation and the approach.

We're all selective about our bats and the evaluations seem to run the gamut both for and against depending on the evaluators. We really don't know until we take it out an swing indivually as each of our swings and techniques/games are different.
When I first started the post it was tongue in cheek because of the "nice finish" but then it took a turn somewhere and got too wordy.

God knows there's no virgins on this message board to protect.

Sometimes it seems like there's multiple threads going with something to sell as the underlying message. Best to you as well.

Yeah - sometimes I get tired of the faux commercialism on a board that is not supposed have "Advertising for commercial product, servies, or websites" followed up with a phone number in case you need anything for your game.....

It's a high wire act.....

It's amazing to me that someone can put 125 swings on a bat - downplay the results because of wind blowing out (LOL) and brag about the GREAT exterior finish.

Let's find some bats that have the performance we want - at a price that is fair - with a longevity factor built in.

Having played againt Clatta and respecting his ballin' abilities and teamanship (word?) let's see what this bat turns out to be.

No teasers needed - seems like outright salesmanship as opposed to a frank, pratical evaluation.

We're not spinning a cash register here (or are we) - if we are going to evaluate bats let's do it without the tease...what are we selling - paint jobs on cars? Get the Diamond coat......

If I want to buy Turtle Way versus Simonize I will. If I'm interested in buying a bat let's hear/see a real report - not a billboard.

This isn't Burma-Shave - although most in Burma (Mymmar) don't need to shave either so I guess that was hype also.....

Stop with the road signs to keep you name in lights - post for real - thanks Mike for the frank low down

Bruce - you must have got a dud.....I had the 28" & 30's and they performed great. But - this bat was probably the easiest Combat to break.

The Tanners Grip has worked well for me - lasts for a few seasons. Most that I've shared it with went on to get it for themselves.

Discussion: Lower Back Pain Home Remedies

I had sciatica all the way down the left leg and partially down the right (lifting) when I found those exercises. It'd had it going on for about a month and a half then rehurt it again (slipped on a wet field playing ball) & it got worse - hard to walk - couldn't run. Worked these exercises and within 2 weeks was 75% better.

Didn't know what piriformis is/was but did it to relieve the sciatica and it worked.....

I keep it bookmarked just in case.
