| July 13, 2017 timmyb | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Results of the SCSSA Beach Bash 17 My team , had a losing record in usssla last year (2016) playing 50 major ,and only won 1 usssala tournament in all of 2016 . we won the smokies playing Issa aaa ,, with a 4 team tournament . So , a losing record all of 2016 , we played excellent in Vegas and won our first and only tournament in usssla for 2016 , the worlds n Las Vegas . We got bumped to major plus for 2017 in spa , usssla and isssa . We have played in 6 tournaments so far this year , and have won a total of 2 games , all year . We have only played in 1 tournament with another major plus team and that was the smokies a few weeks ago . All other 5 tournies , we were the only major plus team . We kept the same team and added 2 guys who never played senior ball . We' this year would be tough , but there has to be some basis to evaluate a team , after getting bumped , we are a small team that each player pays his own way to play , no sponsor at all . We are not running from playing major plus , far from it , we committed to playing all of the same tournaments we did in 2016 with a losing record in major , as major plus . Other teams we played last year and lost , finished in the top 5 n Vegas , broke up to not get bumped to major plus , we wanted to stay together , we also lost our only coach , and our short stop is our player coach , and doing a great job . Sorry for ranting but what would be a compelling reason to appeal to major for us . I'm not threatening we are breaking up , we do t want that either , but we had our asses handed to us Iin 2016 winning 2 tournaments all year , and a losing record . This year we have won a total of 2 games . sorry for the rant FYI my name is tim and my team is gem city marchants |

Here in Midwest we have very few if any major plus teams . We've played in 4 tournaments so far this year , and no other major plus team played . We have not won a game so far this year , we're not a bad team , but there's not much difference between major and major plus teams , and We give runs , plus play by the lower class rules , it's making for a long year ..... |
| May 21, 2017 timmyb | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Senior Softball Tournament Prizes My team ( gem city merchants ) had a losing record in 2016 playing majors , we had 10 guys fly out to Vegas for Vegas worlds ,at the end of the year . won 8 games , played some fantastic teams , and have a memory I'll never forget ,winning it all . the ring sits in a drawer ( very nice btw) , No prize can replace that feeling ,playing with friends , in a well run tournament , against great teams ...with great wives and family watching , I've never played on a world championship team , we haven't won a single game in 2017 playing major plus , but would not trade a second of the experience ..... sorry for rambling , but the prize was the experience and friendship Timmy b |
| May 7, 2017 timmyb | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Brickyard Tournament Indianapolis To all , I do not have a dog in this fight , I'm only stating the fields ( which I would have bet $ on would not be playable ) were not only playable , but were actually excellent ..... as fast as the outfield , yes we had a few spots with standing water , which iis no different than than any other tournament I've played in over the years ....... my only complaint is we played against a 55 team out of illionois ( I think ) that hit the crud out of the ball ...... shouldnt they give it up by now and give us younger guys a chance ....:) |
