That ball used in Mesquite marked "SS" for Senior Special is a dumbed down ball and should not be used in tournament play. Our weekday leagues stopped using them due to that fact. Initially, it was a $$$ decision, because the balls were the most inexpensive (for a reason). We have gone to a standard ZULU ASA 375/44 which isn't a juiced XRock by any means, but it's a fair ball. SSUSA needs to adopt the same policy. The XROCK is an aberration, it's fun to hit and does fly, but it's not ball your going to use in your weekday league. So lets ask SSUSA to provide a DECENT ASA ball not the cheapest ball available.

Well a new low for SSUSA. The ball used in Mesquite was a SENIOR SPECIAL Trump Stote. This ball is a dumbed down ball with restricted flight. We used to get these for BP and they did not fly. The Anaheim leagues used to use the ball and found the same problem, then switched to the ZULU a "normal" ASA ball (375/44). So why are we using these balls in tournament play? Cheap!!! The SS ball can be bought for $48 on line. In bulk you're probably paying $35-40 a dozen. We don't need the Rock, but a quality ASA ball would be appreciated. The tourney costs are up and the quality of the ball is down. Complain to your manager.

The balls used in Mesquite last week are the TRUMP Stote SENIOR SPECIAL..."SS" designation. It's the CHEAPEST ASA ball that can be bought and is a restricted flight ball!! Complain to your managers so that we can at least get a decent ASA ball if the Rock's are no longer being used. This ball was and is junk as our local league quit buying the Senior Special designation ball and now use the "normal" Trump ZULU ball with normal pop. SSUSA is skinning us with higher tourney fees and jamming us up with these crap balls.
