Topic: Players looking to join a team
Discussion: Jealous of my friends in my old state who travel ... I want to get back into serious slow pitch

I played nearly 30 years in central Illinois. During season, I played twice weekly in two leagues and money tournaments on weekends. I am not a true power hitter, but develop occasional power. I've played exclusively outfield (L, LC, RC, R), but have always yearned to play second base. I could never get there because the team wanted my speed in the outfield. Ugh. Anyway ... I live in Phoenix, and would like to find a competitive team, and would especially like to travel to out of state tournaments. I have played only two senior tournaments (San Jose and Houston), but both were Senior Olympics because I could play with my old buddies. League rules for most tournaments apparently prohibited my playing with my Illinois team because I did not live in an adjoining state. The unicorn would be a team that plays local to Phoenix, but also travels for tournament. I am 65, but think i could play down with a few practices. Thanks!
