Feb. 18, 2026 Obad2019	Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Major playing wants to go up an age to play AAA It is interesting that a player has to keep his team rankings in senior softball and everywhere else, a player is rated individually. We all know that there are some players on teams that are not in their proper ratings. There friends play so they are on the team. Now, the rules have trapped those players. I understand the rules. You have a 40 major player that I be honest, pretty much is a relief player. They turn 50 and now more team opportunities come. Now, they cannot play with their rightful age bracket because they were riding the bench on a major roster. Now, a AAA team that wants to pick them up, have to give up one of their major spots for a player who was not really playing on that 40 major team but was on the roster. If that player knew this, I bet you they would not have been put on that 40 major roster, just to be put on them. Rules are what they are, just telling you what we are dealing with trying to play by the rules which I try to do.

I have a guy who played 40 majors last year but wants to come play 50 AAA now that he is old enough. He never played 50's before. What exactly do he need to do? He not playing both, he is just playing 50 AAA now if he can. I read the rules, still a little cloudy on these types of moves. Thanks
Feb. 9, 2026 Obad2019	Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Roster Eligibility A player can only play on a team in the same or equivalent skill level when playing in two age divisions. EXAMPLE: A player on a 55-Major division team cannot play on a 50-AA division team unless the 50-AA team has an approved “out-of-rating” roster exemption available. (See also §4.2(1)B.)

July 30, 2024 Obad2019	Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Fields for Eastern nationals Jeff50, that is a good thought. I never thought about the woman. Center field being greater than 400 ft adds a hold extra dimension for outfielders playing defense. It creates a damn if I do, damn if I don't situation. I was telling my guys to play up. If you don't think those fields made a difference, we played 50 AAA. I watched 10 games, and I played in 5 of them. I only saw 2 homeruns the hold time, I watched or played. So, what we had is an E Ball tournament with no homeruns. SMH

July 15, 2024 Obad2019	Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Brackets No, those big fields ae horrible. Thats where the major plus teams should play. We played 2 games on them about 2 years ago and no team hit any homeruns. I'm a pretty big guy and I don't use shaved bats and was slugging balls. I touch the fence twice but, in that heat, balls were not carrying that well. Good luck on those big fields.
