Another sad turn out. When will the association learn that this is not a good time for this one. There is couple things wrong with this one and Taits mentioned one of them above. If you get bumped during the year, you should be playing at the bumped up rating. It is a disadvantage to the teams that did not get bumped. Just my opinion which probably isn't right anyway.

Discussion: More 1-1 Count Talk

I believe the Major and the Major Plus divisions would rather have the full count. The AA and AAA, I don't think really care. I am a AAA player and what I see these 2 divisions are up there hacking away at the first good pitch they see, I am one of them. Just my opinion. I also believe the open inning is the problem for games not being on time along with the courtesy runner issue. No runner after first pitch to next batter. Hope I did'nt hijack with that comment.

Just wondering when the new team ratings will be posted.

I don't recall discussions on this. I am not a M+ player but have friends that play in the Plus divisions. Since the M+ teams in each division don't have many teams to play, why not combine 50+ and 55+ together and 60+ and 65+ together. Just a thought.

Just wondering if anyone knows or if staff can answer this.
Can a 70 major plus player play with a 60aaa team. I know 1 age drop you can't but what about 2 age drops.

Does anyone know why this was changed from a 5 game to a 4 game guarantee?

Maddog you are right about the sandbagging in the AAA division, in my opinion also, as our team has played a couple of those in the 60 division.

SSUSA,

Are you done rating or rerating teams for this past season? I know your last rating month is Nov., just curious if it is still ongoing.

Discussion: SPA Question????

The Midwest Championships used to be in Champaign Illinois in July. Now they hold it in Shawnee, Kansas. Which for us in the Chicago area is to far to go, about 9 hour drive. I would think the upper states have the same problem as distance. Maybe another association could look into that nice complex for that month which more teams might go to. Just a thought.

In 1 of our leagues, if you used a cr, your cr could only move up 1 base at a time. They put in that rule because teams were abusing it so much. It actually worked out well.

Just curious, but the few guys that post about not using the 52 ball are you Major Plus players? I don't care what ball is used, I just enjoy playing. Just wondering.

Mad Dog,
I agree with you on what you say. We have brought out guys to practice and to some Tournys with us and then we never see them again after they comment that they didn't realize the speed of the ball coming at you. It does not make them sissys just their thoughts. A couple are friends also. I am just a 60 triple a player and probably don't know any better. Maybe in the future they can tone the ball down, that is the cheapest way, and maybe you can get some of these guys out.

We also have gone 3 times and qualified last year but did not go because of the weather the year before. We will probably not play in any toc qualifiers this year because we will not go back until something changes and we are able to qualify again. We all want to play ball as much as we can, but maybe if teams don't plan on going, don't play those qualifers. Maybe it will force them to look at it more closely. It would be more money out their pocket. Just my lonely opinion.

Discussion: player coming back

Anyone out there know what the rule is regarding a player coming back after taking a year off. Can they then play at any level? Such as AA if they were major before the year off? Can not find any rule on it. Thanks
