Discussion: Posting Team Records from Tournaments

Just curious, with so many tournaments around the country, how does anyone know if all the scores are reported to the home office and if they are even the correct ones. It obviously could screw up the ratings of a team good or bad if not reported. Alot of work, but the manager would know where they stand if they knew all scores were reported by the TDS.

Just noticed on the tournaments that the Midwest Championship has been moved to June 9th thru June 14th and from a reliable source it will be in Schaumburg, Illinois.

It sure would be nice to get this Midwest figured out. We are trying to finish our schedule up and since we are in the Midwest it would be nice to have it here at home. If it is in Kansas City, as the rumors have it, that is about 81/2 hours from us and probably will not attend. It is what is I guess.

Also with what you said above, moving it to the first week after the holidays was not a very smart idea. I would think most people had to get back to work this week. Again this should be played in the same year that you Qualified in. Just my thoughts.

I have also seen the same situation as far as players playing down 2 divisions. This might have been brought up in the past, but why not color coded cards for each class?

I would think that they will have the schedules and brackets in the next day or two, for the 50s,55s, and 60s. They will be on the home page. Should say session 2 if that helps.

If I am understanding it right, this team was rerated up and are now 1-12. He filed to be rerated back to where they were and was denied do to the fact they are losing their games by only a few runs each time. I beleve if you are a plus 6 or better, the powers can rerate you up even if you do not win anything. Just curious on what the ruling is to be rerated down. I am sure other teams have this problem also. Maybe the powers or someone could explain this. Am only guessing if this is what busdriver is tring to say.

Discussion: Playing a lower division team in Champaign

Corky, we are still trying to get the 50AA team rerated. For the last 3 weeks we have been trying to get this done. As of this time the 55 aaa team is not that. We have contacted the office to no avail regarding this situation. The 55 team got rerated to AAA after the Indy tourny because we were plus 6 on the run side. You are punished for scoring a few more runs. We have not done anything since. AS far as the rules go we have played 5 SSUSA tournys and played under 5 different sets. Why have a rule book if it is not being followed. So guys try to stop beating us down, its SSUSA

Discussion: team ratings

Our team was moved from AA to AAA after 1 qualifier this year, because we were a plus 8 in our wins. We played the same team twice out of our 5 games and won both times. They did not have a good tournament and we were fortunate to hit well against them. This tournament you played all 7 innings with no run rule and the open inning. You could be up thirty and had to play all the innings. Are other games were 2 or 3 run games and we did not win the tournament either. We have lost to a couple AA teams since then and they know we are not AAA. They do not understand it either but I guess it is what it is. As far as rules go this is another joke. We have played 4 SSUSA tournaments and the rules have been different for each one. I do not understand that either. They can rerate you after 1 tourny but it takes you 3 tournys to try and get rerated back to where you belong .Very frustrating.

Discussion: The "TOC" make it a more major and fair event.

Our team has been fortunate enough to make it to TOC both years that they have had it. I beleive they had 116 teams the first year and only 84 this year. Obviously the timing for this one is not good especially for cold weather teams. Out of the divisions of three or more teams, I beleive there were 18, only 3 cold teams won if that means anything. They have moved the TOC up for 2009 to Jan 9th-10th and 11th right after the holidays where people probably take vacations between the 2. To me that was not very smart. I know our team if we happen to qualify again will probably not be going back because of this. What happened to score keepers, we had none.

Discussion: What would you change in Senior Softball?

There are alot of good things in this post but the one thing I would like to see changed is the courtesy runner rule. It is abused by alot of teams. If a runner is needed he should come in right away or not at all. If a runner can go first to third there is no reason he should be replaced after a batter or two unless injured running. Want to help speed up game this is one way I would think would help.
