Thanks Dave. Thought that was the case (i.e. makes sense). I am not sure if your statement is in the Rules, but if not it should be for clarity sake.

Bases loaded, batter hits chop in front of plate. Pitcher fields, runs and steps on home plate. Is the runner on third immediately forced out or does he still have to cross the commitment line for the force to be in effect? Bonus question: If the force is not in effect how would you handle this situation defensively?

Botetourt Sports Complex, Salem, VA. This is used by ISSA and it's beautiful. It will be interesting to see what the city of Salem does to refurb their main complex at Moyer Park, which was already nice. They do it right in VA.

Yes Nancy, that is where I was going with my previous comment. The ball has to be caught directly (cleanly) into the glove or bare hand and can't be trapped against your body.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think this rule is consistent across associations. Would any of the umpires or rule makers out there care to comment?

I should also mention it was the first base side dugout near the opening to home plate. Tim, I know you are busy, but would it be possible for me to get the email contact list for all the managers that attended the Maryland Classic? I am going to keep trying. My email is above. I am still hopeful that someone will be honest and step up and do the right thing.

Might have been Deluxe Bakery vs. Team Elite or possibly Trinity playing the 3:30PM game on field 4 on Saturday?

Discussion: Left my bat at Westminster

Hi,

I left my bat, a 26oz. black Combat Centenarian on field 4 Saturday at the 2 o'clock game. Deluxe Bakery and another 50's team were playing next. If you picked it up I would love to get it back. I will be at Loudoun.

Thanks,

Discussion: A BIG Thank You!

I just wanted to give a big "Thank You!" to the coordinators, Cal and Joe, the staff at CenturyLink Sports Complex in Fort Myers and our friends and fans (Nini, Marge, Roy, Cathy, Martha, Debbie) and anyone else I missed for all of the help provided to my wife in trying to find our lost rental car key. I eventually found it when we were finally done while putting my bat bag back in the car in the top rain channel of the back hatch behind the rubber gasket. So, all's well that ends well! You were all so very kind and I appreciate it greatly.

BTW, I thought the fields and umpiring were great, so thanks for a job well done there too.

Kyle Schwarber from the Cubs tweeted about using the double bag after that play last night. Let's not forget the double home plates to eliminate that "catcher blocking the runner from home plate" call...LOL!!!

Discussion: Miken softball gloves

Hi AJC. I have the 13 1/2 'H' web model and I'm very happy with it. Minimal break-in time and comfortable. I play outfield and the only knock on the glove would be I would have liked it to be a little bigger. I would have preferred a 14" model, but I wanted that style web. Our shortstop has the same glove so I'm sure it's fine for the infield, judging by his excellent play :-). I am interested in the seeing the new Boombah Veloci gloves I just received info on in an email; looks good on paper, $129 + shipping though.

Discussion: To any of the High Street Bucs 55's or 60's out there...

Thanks stacks, that's good news. My teammate Skip and I just happened to be in the restaurant when he had his episode, so we were a little worried. He's one of the "good guys" playing the game so I am glad everything will be Ok. Please tell him we are thinking of him and tell him to stop thinking so hard...haha. I will pass this info along to all my teammates.

Sorry to put this out in an open forum, but I don't have anyone's email on the HSB's. We just got back from VA Beach and wanted to make sure Donnie was Ok. Please let us know how he is doing and please send our best to him from the Northeast Sultans 60's and Tri-State Merchants 55's.

Thanks,
