Discussion: Why isn't my current registration good?

Thanks Rip. A beer? - we are staying where you guys usually stay at the Fairfield. Glad to see you guys are finally sobering up.

Duke - wouldn't it be great if they had a credit card machine present to swipe your card and a photo booth set up to get your head shot, just like they do for a lot of wedding receptions these days, LOL!

TexasT - it affects about half our team, anyone that has a card that expires at the end of this year. It all depends how many years you signed up for. And yes, they are going to allow players to play on their current cards.

I need this whole situation like a hole in the head. Being travel agent is more than enough. You guys are going to have to buy me beers in Fort Myers for that remark!

Discussion: Why isn't my current registration good?

I just received mulitple e-mails from SSUSA on this. All players that have a card that expires in December of this year will have to begin the registration process for a new 2011 (and beyond) card before Winter Nationals. They apologized for the late notice and are going to modify the expiration dates to be November - November (new year starts after World Championships)for all new cards issued. (I was going to suggest this.) A hassle on this short notice, but I will try to get the multiple players on my team to comply. My apologies for the tone of my original post but sometimes the fingers type a message and hit "Post" before the brain is fully enagaged! CW

To SSUSA - I see on the Winter Nationals tournament page that all players must have a valid 2011 registration. My registration card says it is valid until 12/31/2010 (I bought it for 5 FULL years!)and should be valid for the remainder of this year. What gives? Why aren't you honoring your contract? I am sure there are MANY other players in the same boat as me.

Discussion: Northeast TOC qualifier

I certainly have to agree that all of the tournaments that Dave and Fran are the TD's of are well run. Great destination, but I wonder whether the Northeast Championships can survive with games being held at the current playing sites. I heard a lot of griping about the fields (awful outfields, snow fences, etc.) and several teams saying they would not attend again. With ISSA holding their tournament a week after in Virginia Beach, it certainly presents an alternative. What does everyone else think?

Discussion: Glen Burnie Results 50 AAA Bracket ??

A big THANK YOU to our umpires and officials. It was 104 degrees (heat index 115) on Saturday and a balmy 97 degrees on Sunday for the 50's and not once did I hear a complaint. Great job.

Sounds like the "EvoShield" stuff. There is a link to their products from the main Senior Softball page. One of our players bought the shirt with body-forming guard and seems to like it. He said it was very lightweight.

Discussion: Playing Levels

It would have to be different age levels and the same or 1 "skill" level difference I believe, e.g., 55 Major playing 50 Major or 50 AAA or 50 Major+, but not 50 AA.

Right Bruce, what happened was rule 4.2(6). I'm not sure I agree with the fact that you can jump back and forth between teams within a (non-World Championship) tournament.

Discussion: Playing Levels

I have mixed opinions on whether you should be able to do this within a single tournament. That should start a discussion!

On the one hand you want to beat a team on the field, whatever their personnel, but on the other should this even be allowed to happen?

Discussion: WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - DRAFT Game Schedules & Brackets

Dave - I just re-read my previous post and it's a bit confusing, to say the least. The simple question is, should the 50AAA bracket games for Friday at Rose Mofford start an hour and a half sooner? Sorry for the confusion.

Discussion: WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - DRAFT Game Schedules & Brackets

Dave - the "Championship Play" bracket games for 50AAA runs from 3:00PM-7:30PM (although the text on the schedule says "bracket play begins at 1:30PM at Rose Mofford"), but the "Master" schedule has games starting at 1:30PM running through 6:00PM. I just wanted to double check on this, since we don't want to be late. Am I missing something? Thanks.

I know I speak for all of us on the Pat's Pizza/St. Anthony's 50's team and TNT Sports Club/Tri-State 55's team, that Homer will surely be missed. He was a fierce competitor and a good guy both on and off the field. Our condolences to his family, friends, and to his teammates on the Hitmen.

Discussion: SPA IN GLEN BURNIE

The 50AAA had the same plight. We only had one of the assigned tournament umps for the final game. I'd like to thank the guys that I saw stand-in (Lou, Sonny, guy from Central Pa, I'm sure there were others) for doing a great job. I sure hope they got paid. The tournament director and the SPA should be ashamed of themselves for letting this happen. For the amount of money they charge to play in these things it was really a disgrace. I heard that something happened at one of the Sat. night games between one of the umps and the tourny director and he walked off the field. Is this true? Perhaps theer was a "Blue Flu" on Sunday?

Thanks.
