Discussion: weird softball bat help needed

I think the powers to be in SSUSA do not allow fastpitch bat for play. Something to do will hitting a girls bat (lol)
There are some fastpitch bats that do not say 'fastpitch' and you can use those. Check out the Combat line.

Senior ASA, Reaper ASA and Yellow Elite ASA can all be used in any league. Even if the yellow says fastpitch on it.

Guys in Sun Lakes. Thanks for a great season, good friends and wow what a league tournament. In the final game that shot over the wall behind the street must have been 400 ft. (just ask old Dci about it, who hit it well guess who) Way to go guys and have a great summer. I am off to Wisconsin and will see you in the fall.

Discussion: Testing the new senior 1.20 bat

According to our spy, testing was done yesterday out at Sun Lakes field. Blacked out bats hitting with the yellow senior bat back and forth. My friend was there to water the fields and was not spotted for fear if caught he could have been shot, LOL

We are putting together a homerun for chairty event and want the best balls that will travel. What brand and type would be the test. Remember that we want the ball to really go far.

thanks

In our league the Reaper is the most used ASA bat. Solid feel and great pop.

And this new Rip It bat will have nothing to do with Combat or CE. According to my source Rip It has moved on from that and has it’s own factory. Have seen some of the Az guys hitting test bats. I have been a fan of this company since they came out and will delight to see them kick some serious senior market butt. Presenting a better product at a better price. If you look what they have done in fastpitch (my DD coaches at a D1) and now into other equipment I know the seniors will be very happy.

Discussion: Bat Warmers

Funny this should come up. At batting practice today there was a player with a bat warmer and I asked our bat expert, Bill Gateley about it. The answer was the same with a big ‘no’ that they do not work. He said the warmer might heat up a metal bat but by the time you stepped up to the plate it would cool off. Also the same information about the ball. On composite bats the warm do not work, period. Hope that helps.

Bill Gateley did quie a few last few seasons. I know he does some one on one lessons with our group and other at times. His number is 480-241-3717
Most players in Az know him, aka 'homerun Bill'

Discussion: Now that's a bat of another color !!

Can someone please help our poor and confused league leaders at Sun Lakes in Arizona. They have banned the U2 but will allow the Launch 510. They have banned the yellow Rip It but will allow the Combat senior. We have played the last few years with ASA bats because many of the league players/ are rec level at best and catching a U2 missile is over their skill level.
Can you also tell our well intended leaders that a USSSA 1.20 is not the same as a senior 1.20. Many of us feel that lower skill rec players (like me) do not want to be on receiving end of a U2/510/Combat senior bat and that ASA or USSSA bats are much safer. Let the tournament players use those U2 bats and let us play with a safe piece of mind.

Discussion: next best bat

Let’s be fair. The senior ASA model is not in the same league as the SSUSA bats and it is designed for the rec lever senior players. It has a soft swing and is very balanced. Many of our rec players love the bat. The Reaper is end loaded and is harder to swing but is still an ASA level bat. The yellow senior is in the process of getting a make over and will be legal with the 1.20 stamp so legal in SSUSA play based on the info I heard.

Discussion: Ultra 2 =s automatic HRs

I have a yellow bat but next to never use it. The Senior ASA is my bat. Also the Reaper when I feel up to swinging the end-load.
I do not play in tournaments nor would anyone want me to.

Discussion: Ultra 2 =s automatic HRs

I have noticed the same thing with the U2 bat. Everyone seems to be a HR possible. This is why we do not allow anything but ASA bats at Sun Lakes. With a 44/375 ball and ASA bats only once in a long while do we see a HR unless we are pitching to homerun billy. Last Saturday he hit about seven not only over the fence but up on the road which is about 340 ft.

If it is the Eilte FP model than it is legal, even if it say's fastpitch is matters not. It is a ASA bat.

I want to be careful here. I am not with Rip It in anyway and I am going on info that I heard. The new bat will have the 1.20 stamp and approved by SSUSA for those tournaments. Not sure about the name or color.
