Discussion: Players with the same number on a team

One year our Sunday morning touch football team all wore the same jersey number (2) & our team was called The Clones.
The referees actually got a kick out of it cause they could just throw a flag & say "Penalty on #2".
No one got upset or complained . . .

Discussion: Equalizers

Thanks Nancy; we already play with 11 fielders in this league but giving the underdog a 12th fielder as in a 5th outfielder could be a good equalizer.
Pretty sure we'd get very little support for batting off-handed, too many players have enough challenge hitting normally . . .

Discussion: Equalizers

Thanks Dave & MD; we like the Runner on 2nd base option since we want the underdog to have to earn their equalizer instead of just being gifted runs.
We do have some Draft leagues already but the Co-Rec Senior league has been ongoing for about 20 years and the players don't want to break up their teams.
Another idea might be to allow the underdog to score up to 7 runs per inning vs 5 runs for the higher level team.

Discussion: Equalizers

We have a 6-team Senior Co-Rec league with a lot of disparity between the teams.
We're looking for "equalizers" to make the games more competitive.
Anyone have any ideas beyond the standard 5-run spot?
Thanx for any suggestions . . .

Discussion: DARK CLOUDS IN 65 MAJOR PLUS

If the Stote ball wasn't such an inferior, under-performing product compared to The Rock, this wouldn't even be an issue.
Wonder what would happen if a team put a Stote ball in a game where The Rock ball was being used . . .

Anything other than an MRI is just guesswork.
A lot of back problems can be completely cured by surgery when necessary.

Discussion: Out of the Batters Box.

True that plus you're still depending on the Ground Crew to put the box lines in the right place on non-turf fields.
Even if the Batters Box is lined up with enough room, all the umps we've ever had have only had 1 set of eyes.
If they're looking down at the Box lines & the Batters feet when he hits the ball how are they also going to see if a Runner leaves early, or worse if a hard ground ball down the line is Fair or Foul??

Discussion: Trump Stote Softball Concerns

Must not be any standards enforced when it comes to manufacturing & marking balls; these Stotes aren't anywhere close to .44 cor.
More like .40 cor or even less.
Drop them on a hard surface alongside a Decker or a Dudley .44 cor ball & you'll see the Stote only "bounces" about half as much.

But the thing is that Trump Stote ball is NOT 44 COR. Try dropping it on a hard surface & you'll see how it "bounces" about like a sack of oysters as in almost not at all.
Then drop it on a hard surface with any other 44/375 ball & see how the Stote only "bounces" about half as much.
The Stote is probably more likely a 40 COR ball at the most.

Discussion: Why so many shaved senior bats

Not knowing much about Compression Testing would this be able to single out a shaved senior bat from an unshaved senior bat?
If not, then using a better ball than the Stote would at least reduce the number of (alleged) shavers . . .

Discussion: Why so many shaved senior bats

One theory is more guys started using shaved bats once the Trump Stote ball was put in play. The Stote doesn't go as far, especially in the heat, so maybe the shaved bats can compensate for the loss of distance?
Same thing happened in open age league play when the 52/300 ball was put in play and players (allegedly) started using shaved USSSA or ASA bats.

Discussion: Speed up rules

You wouldn't want to "do away with the plate being a strike" because the umps would have a really tough time calling balls or strikes on pitches that landed right where the mat touches the plate.

Discussion: Ruling clarification

Just put a line from the 3rd Base line to the 1st Base line 40" in front of the plate. If the batter steps over the line before he hits the ball (or steps on or over the plate) he's Out. The Batter's Box is unnecessary just like no cares about or enforces the Catcher's Box, the Coaches Boxes or the Pitcher Box.
Get rid of it!!!

Pathetically stupid; how can a ball over the fence count against your Home Run total when it's NOT a Home RUN???
