jeff33- If everyone that plays senior ball and has had a TKR were to add to this post, it would probably set a record for the most replies to a question ever. You seem a little young to be considering on, and if you are, good luck and have a great seniors career.

Discussion: A team's rating!

Ken- Pretty cold comment in a time like this for TH and his family. Maybe just couldn't resist beating that dead horse just one more time. Ratings are subjective to a point and I sure wouldn't be making a comment like that when I wanted someone to think positive thoughts for me.

Discussion: A team's rating!

I really don't like to be repetitive, but I put a message up on another thread not too long ago, and it seems to apply here. The name is changed to be relevant, I hope.

"[Duke]- I'm confused here. Did you[r manager] make an appeal of your rating that got denied, or are you just complaining and hoping that if someone at ssusa sees this you might get a random ratings change? [Another poster] just told us about how they went thru the process, and it seems to me that until your team does, it's not likely a ratings change for you is in the cards."

Change isn't likely to occur until or unless you follow the assoc. process. Otherwise you just sound like another of the teams that isn't interested in facing the challenge of a ratings move. There are no guarantees. Maybe you should try to earn your success at a higher level where it would be more satisfying.

taits- Must be a tough tournament bracket there. Best 183 of 365 doesn't sound all that fun every year.

Joncon and AZBaller- I'm wondering if Gunny is just foolin' with y'all. Looks to me like Florence just added internet access for the inmates. Keep smilin'

I still count 14 50's teams, not 7. I guess you could probably do your 7 in two days if there weren't 26 other team in the tournament. Maybe you shoud ask to play all by yourselves on a different weekend? Get a clue

Jawood- Not sure what northwest schedule you're looking at but I counted 33 teams playing on Friday. Seven on Wednesday and Thursday isn't many until everyone else shows up for the rest.

George C. Scott sure was good in Platoon. Oops. I guess I should be over in trivia 12. Either way, a good OLD movie, and same with the platooning idea. Best left to gather dust. I want to play both O and D, and am betting that almost all players feel the same way.

I have the backwards. gets=gives. But they do cancel each other out and play even

sloball1- No it doesn't. The 55 M+ gets an equalizer for the rating, but the 50-M gets an equalizer for the age and they cancel each other out

Bob- If you 'get your five', the equalizer run adds to that to make 6. It look like the 'if earned' is confusing to some people, like me, but that's the way it works.

Discussion: Can't find a team

bigred3- I hope you find a team to play for this year. You may wish to include some information on how to contact you, like an email address or a phone number. Lots of coaches read this board, but most probably aren't anxious to recruit openly here. Maybe if they had a way to get in touch with you and talk privately, it will work out for you. Good luck.

Way to go bad-dog. Your 17 message negative post 'losing' streak is intact. You're still a long way from DiMaggio's untouchable 56 in a row, but you have a real chance.

Hey bigdog- I saqw the Miken travel bags that were given out here in Tucson this weekend. They're really nice and everyone was excited about them. You'll probably like it to when you get yours. But you also probably won't want to admit that and break your "losing streak" of all of your posts being negative. Makes me wonder why anyone would even want you on their team in the first place

Nancy- It seems like the ssusa desn't have a problem with this fantastic article. There's a direct link to it on the home page under the tournament schedules and scores stuff. Thanks for brining it to the attention of everyone.

Discussion: ROCK n RENO - TENTATIVE LOCATION ASSIGNMENTS

Golden Eagle has 6 fields. Haven't seen it yet, but hope we'll get a chance to see it this year. Found some pictures online and it sure looks nice, even though it's astro turf. Still prefer the grass at Centennial over anything else we've ever seen in the Reno area.

Discussion: ROCK n RENO - TENTATIVE LOCATION ASSIGNMENTS

Z/Man- Our 60 team has played at Carson for the last 2 years and I'm a bit disappointed that we aren't there this year. The fields are the best in the tournament. The field guys there do a full prep after each game. The food is fantastic and not expensive. We all stay in Reno and drive down and it's no problem. But watch out for the speed trap between Reno and Carson. 55 means 55 there. I don't agree with you about an abrupt change here. It's still almost 2 months until the tournament starts, and no other organizations give you this much advance info. You seem ready to complain about something before you have the chance to see how good Carson is. Oh, and you are right about one thing, looking at who has played in Carson for the last couple years, It is your turn. But you'll like it a lot.

Discussion: Screen to protect the pitcher

I was in a league that used the pitcher screen. Was about 6' tall and about 3' wide. A batted ball hitting the screen was simply a foul ball, and an out if the batter already had two strikes, just like any other foul ball in that situation. If the ball hit the screen by the defense, it was treated just like hitting a base or an umpire. It was live and that was it. Was a pretty good way to handle it and still give the pitcher the option to protect himself if he wanted. The screen was optional for both teams, and wasn't always used by both teams in some games. It worked well for us.
