Discussion: Sick of these bats !

Oh ye of little faith. Fear not my brethren of senior softball for I have heard from the prophet of the holy bat that your prayers will be answered this fall.

Discussion: DVD on Hitting

Coach Myers is the head softball coach at Arizona State. One fo the best hitting coaches baseball or softball in the nation. If he did a DVD I would listen. Bill is one of the best pure hitters in senior softball and also a long time hitting guru. If these two did put together a DVD it would be worth a look. I think too many of hitting tapes are just how to hit a bomb and not geared for the rec level players like myself. My biggest concern is getting a swing that will work with my body or at least what's left of it. I will put a call into 'homerun billy' to see what I can find out.

Discussion: New U2 - have the 1.20 stamp ?

Miken has no say it what K2 wants to do. The once mighty king of bats is now just a shadow of a large ocrp monster.
Not really a bad thing. Miken sales are slow to say the least. Big brother is looking to see if Worth ( also K2) can pick up there the broken U2 has left off. Make a change here and there, add some new paint and the senior group will buy into the .new' bat gimmick.
Don't get me wrong guys, not putting down any company or product. Just telling it as it is.

Discussion: Worth Launch 510

Since K2 is the big eye in the sky here it would be safe to assume that the bats are alike. In my travels there is a buzz that K2 is not overly pleased with the lackluster sales from Miken. Could be that Worth might be getting more of the lion's share of product in days to come if Miken cannot pump it up.

Discussion: Hit the new Reaper bat from Rip It

In terms of rip It and who they are. I am retired from the softball/baseball world after 30 years and follow the companies for lack of anything better to do.

Clearview Systems aka Rip It is based out of Miami with offices in Orlando and Chandler Az. As a whole they are a fastpitch companiy with faceguards (reg for girls) and f/p bats. In that market they are quickly becoming a powerhouse in sales.

For senior softball they just got in the game last fall and to keep this short, will soon be a major problem for some of the 'other' companies. These guys are very sharp, move fast and seem to have a inside know-how about bats.

Discussion: Combat Original

If I understand the rules the bat has to have the 1.20 stamp on it. I belive that was the problem with the Rip It bat, it is or was a 1.20 but did not have the stamp on it. So it looks like you will have to go the Anaconda bat.
I hope I got the facts right on this. Let me know if I did not.

Discussion: Who is your 'best hitter'

I am only a rec player but based on what I have seen and the many of the players here in Arizona. It seems that Bill Gateley is the hittter of choice here in the valley.
Major homerun power, bat control and more makes him a not only a tough out but a scoring theat with the long ball.

Also my hat is off to Hank from Sunland Village, at age 84 he can still hit the ball a ton...

Discussion: Rip It Elite Question, Re: Sanctioning by SSSUA

Koived;
Are you not getting enough love at home ? Why so hostile towards Rip It. Are you upset because they are taking market share from your beloved Combat, because you know the senior ASA bat is really better than the AV and you cannot deal with it. Or is it that you thought Combat owned Rip It and made bats for them only to be corrected.
Let it go, we still love you.
I know Rip It is not concerned with the senior elite, SSUSA and anything else outside of fastpitch and the senior ASA bat. There are no comments of any type from any of the Rip It folk about the yellow bat and if you think they are trying to pull a fast one, think again. They are selling a ton of bats right now so if you wary of buying one, then DON’T….if the bat is to made legal than so be it, wait till it is or buy something else.

Kudos to Rip It for an outstanding product, great service and launching their company into big box retail with success.

Discussion: Increasing bat speed

What is the best way to increase bat speed. I just started playing again, age 64, walking and using light weights to help get stronger.
Is there a device or something I can do to help ??

thanks

Discussion: Buzzard shame

I think his point is that sme of you cannot or will not accept that a new company can have customers of passion and conviction. It seems that board members can only post about products accepted by the inner circle.
I have over 30 years in the bat business, have worked with most of the large companies in some way or another. So let me share that may always be a new product on the rise. Some will die on the way up, some will just fade, and one or two will survice the climb and make it. So back off the guys from Az. I think iit is great they support a product and company as they do.
