Sept. 5, 2013 Jetboy | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Have you ever noticed how many major brands of softball/baseball equipment there are? Rawlings, Wilson, Mizuno, Miken, Franklin, Louisville Slugger, Demarini, Easton, Worth, Dudley, Nakoma and I'm sure I'm just scratching the surface. Are there any other sports or hobbies that have so many manufacturers competing for our dollars? |
Aug. 12, 2013 Jetboy | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Infield fly rule with a line drive stick8, I assume that is the rule that not only is the batter runner but the baserunner on first is out too but that seems a stiff penalty |
Aug. 12, 2013 Jetboy | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Plantar Fasciitis Valgus6, Have you recommended or used the wrapping method that I linked too? I can't believe how good a job it did in letting me run immediately. I tried it while waiting for a referral to a foot doctor. After seeing the doctor then I did the insert and stretching routine. Aug. 11, 2013 Jetboy | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Plantar Fasciitis I had it happen to me last year and couldn't run at all. I found this taping procedure and I was able to run again. Take the tape off and couldn't run. It works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Z2XlqsuQSY |

Aug. 9, 2013 Jetboy | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Pitcher hit by line drive "What kind of protective equipment was Don wearing?" I'm going to suggest 'not the right kind'. |
Aug. 9, 2013 Jetboy | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Infield fly rule with a line drive Bases loaded I was playing third. Line drive hit to me that I dropped, accidentally. I picked it up and touched third for one out and threw to home for a second out. No infield fly called which I felt was correct. No protest from the offense but one of my teammates suggested to me later that he would have called it (he does ump games). My thought is even if an umpire wanted to call it an infield fly the ball wouldn't have been in the air long enough for it to help the base runners react. Now let's say the ump decided I dropped it on purpose could a different call be made? |
July 10, 2013 Jetboy | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Tag on Caught Fly Ball Out And of course the reason behind the answer to your first question is that if the baserunner had to wait for the catch to be secured then the fielder could juggle the ball all the way in to stop a runner from advancing. |
July 10, 2013 Jetboy | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Infielders; do you wear a cup? I play third base and I always do. I feel it makes me a much braver fielder. As far as I know I'm the only one on my team that wears one. So many times I see infielders jumping to the side on a ball that is hit right at them in order to not catch it in the cajones. |
June 22, 2013 Jetboy | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Making a ball choice for a recreational league. Taits, I thought of the Clincher 16 (or blooperball as we call it) too. We play on 200 foot little league fields and there aren't too many HRs. None by me at least. We all wear gloves in our league. And it's a lot of fun. 40 and over. |
May 24, 2013 Jetboy | Topic: Bats Discussion: ASA Senior Bats I take it then that senior bats have more 'pop'? I have a senior Rip-It is that considered a hot/hotter bat? |
May 23, 2013 Jetboy | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Catcher's verbal interference In our little league kids would yell "Swing batter, batter, SWING!" If the batter would just swing the bat when the other team yelled the second "SWING!" they would have hit the ball more often. |
May 23, 2013 Jetboy | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: You make the call Runner on third did cross the plate before they got the guy trying to return to second. |
May 22, 2013 Jetboy | Topic: Bats Discussion: ASA Senior Bats What makes a senior bat a senior bat? |
May 22, 2013 Jetboy | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: You make the call I guess we got hosed the other night. One out, runners on 2nd and 3rd, fly out to left. Runner on 2nd thinking it was two outs takes off on the hit, runner on 3rd properly tags and scores. Defense throws to 2nd base getting the runner who left early for the third out. Defense successfully convinces the umpire the run does not count. |

April 28, 2012 Jetboy | Topic: Product review Discussion: Looking for a backstop net... I ended up buying a Skilz practice net. It's working out good. |
Feb. 29, 2012 Jetboy | Topic: Product review Discussion: Looking for a backstop net... Oh I'm sure with my power I would just be blasting the balls through the blankets! (ok maybe not) |
Feb. 29, 2012 Jetboy | Topic: Product review Discussion: Looking for a backstop net... ...something I could possibly use in my basement and/or outside. I'm looking for something I can set up a batting tee in front of and hit softballs into. Any ideas on where to look? |
April 12, 2011 Jetboy | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Local leagues testing bats This would be in Midland Michigan. I haven't seen what kind of device they are using to test with but I assume it does some kind of compression test. It would detect bats that had been shaved but not bats that are shaved after getting the hologram. |
