Discussion: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR RULING • WMC 50-Major Matter

How come nobody is complaining that Joe Brown's Allstars 60 major plus team was allowed to play 55 major at the Phoenix Winter Worlds? Oh that's right, they won one game and lost five....I guess the major plus doesn't always dominate the lower major division!

Discussion: Prayers for my son

My son has been released from Barrows. I am disappointed to say, all of the testing came back as inconclusive as to what is causing his seizures. At this time there is no cure for him and he will be put back on anti-seizure medications in hopes that over time he will self heal. Thanks to all of you that sent prayers and thoughts for his healing. I still believe there is an answer and have not given up hope.

Discussion: Prayers for my son

Two and a half years ago my son Kody was left on the side of the road by a hit and run driver while riding his bike. Although he did not suffer any apparent serious injuries, he began having grand mal seizures shortly after. He has been hospitalized numerous times and has been close to death twice due to seizures and complications from medicines. Tomorrow he is being admitted to Barrows Neurological where he will be taken off his medications and monitored to try to find out what is causing his seizures. I ask my softball family to put him in your prayers. He is a 37 year old father of three that wants nothing more than to be able to lead a normal life and support his family.
Thanks for reading,

Discussion: NorCal Warriors bumped to Major Plus

Rogue 60's was bumped to major plus after two tournaments. We have a 10 and 5 record, winning the SW Regional with a 4 and 2 record and going 6 and 3 in the Winter Worlds. The decision was based on 12 games, for some reason three games, all losses, did not count, and a fabricated run differential based on those 12 games. We hit 11 home runs and averaged under 20 runs a game in the 15 we played. Our appeal was denied because we only played two tournaments and SSUSA requires three for their appeal process, yet we were moved after two tournaments. Like the Warriors, we have played a total of 5 different teams in these two tournaments, not much to base a decision on. We too, will play out the season, as major plus, to the best of our ability.

Discussion: Yarnell AZ firefighters

On behalf of AZ Rogue 55's, I would like to send our condolences to the families and friends of the 19 firefighters from the Granite Mountain Hotshots, from Prescott AZ, who lost their lives Sunday fighting the forest fire in Yarnell AZ. The fire burned half of the town of 700 people, including almost 300 homes. Our prayers and thoughts go out to all of the residents of Yarnell, the surviving firefighters that were injured and to all grieving for the loss of home and life.

Discussion: Thanks to Smith Electric and staff in Prescott

My stepmom Sami, asked me to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone for their thoughts and prayers concerning my Dad. She was overwhelmed by the number of emails, phone calls and responses on the message board. Again, it shows what kind of family we have in senior softball. My Dad is doing much better and plans to be at the Prescott tournament in July.

Discussion: Thanks to Smith Electric and staff in Prescott

I want to send out a special thanks to the Smith Electric 60's team and the staff at the Tom Tobin Memorial Tournament in Prescott. In a tie game in the championship, while on deck, I noticed my 86 year old Dad not doing well. As I asked him if he was alright, he began vomiting and seemed to be on the verge of passing out. I left to attend to my Dad, as did numerous others. We managed to get him in the dugout and 911 was called. While tending to my Dad's needs, the entire Smith Electric team came over to offer assistance. At that time, Smith Electric announced the game was over and would go down as a tie, as my Dad's health was far more important than any game. This goes to show how senior softball players are one big family. I can't thank everyone enough for your help, thoughts and prayers and hopefully answered or returned all your calls and emails. I am happy to report my Dad is doing well and has been released from the hospital with a severe case of food poisoning and dehydration. When we return to Prescott in July, I'm sure he and my step mom will be on the sidelines, loud as ever, with thanks to all.

Discussion: TOC 55 division

Fangrabbers and Hollis have already won their divisions by being the only teams going in their age/rating division. Neither team needs to win one game and they will still get championship rings and trophy. That in itself says something about this tournament.

Discussion: Copperstate Classic in Tucson

AZ Rogue gave up on the idea of playing in this tournament. It didn't make sense to pay that kind of money for a three day tournament and no teams to play. We would have played if it had been a two day tournament, so SSUSA lost at least one team because of the three day format.

Webbie, I would not have questioned using the runner had I known he was hurt during the tournament, leaving you shorthanded. Misinformation created an unnecessary issue. Hope to see you in Prescott.

Webbie, that play was the Bad News Bears meet the Keystone Kops! It went on for at least 30 seconds. For a moment it seemed as if time had stopped, wondering if our first baseman was ever going to make a move. By the way, how is your player that was hurt Friday? I was misinformed that he was hurt prior and unable to make the tournament. Kenny

Webbie, How is your player that got hurt? I found out after the game that he was injured Friday night, I was misinformed that he was hurt prior, and could not make the trip. Thanks for the kudos, we were missing only two players, next time we play, hopefully we will both be at full strength.
