Discussion: Senior Boombah Bat

If it is a Senior bat it would be banned in ASA and Utrip also. If it is like the other Senior bats it will no Assoc approvals on it.

Ho: It was good to finally meet you. I had a great time.

The people running the tournament did a good job considering the weather you had to put with.

The grounds crew did a great job getting and keeping the fields in good condition.

Wish we could have done better but I think a good time was had by all on our team.

Fred

mad dog: There was on TV a while back on the program Myth Busters and they ran a series of test that showed running to the base was quicker than sliding.

I like the plate better than the line because of the fact in a rare cases the runner may miss the plate and if the ump is awake you have yourself an out. With the line you don't have that.

Well off to the Ohio Classic.

Your right. Wrong choice of words. There is nothing wrong with it but you would think after a couple of games he would be familiar with the home plate rule.

Not many have a bigger ego than me when I am pitching. Problem is it gets me into trouble sometimes as I start thinking I am better than I am.

Why. Is he showing off. That is the only reason I can think of to slide at home.

We Seniors have a lot of ego issues don't we?

Discussion: Rumors about balls

I also tested those balls and it would really kill the 70 and up divisions. I can see a lot of unhappy tournament players going home.

I have to agree with einstein, which I don't often do, why bother wasting time with further testing on a ball that is definitely a dud.

Discussion: looking for over 70 team in Mass.

We are trying to put one together for local tournaments and we also have a couple of leagues in Central Mass area.

You can email me at marlsrsoftball@verizon.net if with your info if interested.

There is also a league with a 70 traveling team but you can't be 75 this year if you want to try out for the tournament team.

If you go to www.softballfans.com you may get lucky and find one. Last week there were a few Flex's for sale. Expect to spend 250-300 for a good used one or 350-400 if you are lucky enough to find a new one.

My mistake. The Turbo is SA and the Burn is Dicks.

Discussion: Miken Turbo

It is a Freak 98 made exclusively for Dick's Sporting Goods. It is a 2009 Freak 98 which means it is not a good as the regular Freak 98's, I have been told, as it has to meet the new ASA test standards. I believe also that SA has their model of this bat also under a different name.

I still prefer the feel of the cleats when I play outfield but when pitching I will use Turf shoes at times.

I bowl for a hobby. (The real bowling Candlepins). Used to bowl for real but now don't have money for softball and full time bowling so just down to 1 day a week with a group of Seniors.

Timing was perfect as I started looking this week for something as this is the first year that my knees were bothering me before the season started.

I also use All Pro Software for the last 6 years and I like it.

It also post your stats to its website or your own website if you want to let your team also look at the stats.

Discussion: Looking for 75+ Tournament Team

Looking for a 75+ or lower level 70 tournament team to possibly play this year. Joseph Chevrolet 75+ isn't going to have a team this year and I would like to still play tournament ball.

I am 76 and live in Ma. I can pitch/Catch and play some outfield (Not great range) and I am a pretty good hitter. Power has dropped but can still get it out there.

You can contact me at marlsrsoftball@verizon.net

Discussion: to" tri "or not to "tri"

I have been wearing them for the 15 yrs that I have been playing and have had no problem with them.

At one time I did have a small problem hitting but I took care of that with my sport glasses by having them drop the trifocals as far as they could and that took care of the problem.
