I've known Doug for a number of years played with him and against him at different points in our senior softball career , he has always been an upfront outstanding and great representative of the game. Bill Conwell , Rebellion 55

Gary 19; don't you get tired of tasting your own bile or is it after all these years you're just use to it ?

You must be an angry 'little' man who never got picked by the other kids to play.

Everything you write has contempt woven in it.

Discussion: NSA TOURNAMENTS

here in Northern CAl " Sac-Town Tourneys " have been trying to get a few tournaments going under the NSA banner. In fairness the weather has been an issue. The guys here are stating that the baden 44/400 ball will be used in their tournaments but when I asked what balls will be used in their Nationals I have yet to get a reply.

Discussion: Moving on up

As a member of the team that took third in the same bracket we played Fangrabbers twice in bracket play. Won the first game lost the second.

As far as Fangrabbers purposely forfeiting one of their bracket games, it is because you are guaranteed 5 games in bracket play (SSUSA) and playing that game @ 8:30 pm ment no difference except it saved them from playing the extra game. Which ment in my eyes they suffered nothing by losing.

SSUSA has stopped loop hole, as mentioned by Dbax, if you now purposely forfeit a game in bracket play you also forfeit the next game.

As far as being moved up, could it be the number of major+ players on the roster ? I know the number of allowable higher ranked players has dropped.

Discussion: Yuba City Tournament Sept. 24-25

I want to commend Doug Robbins and his "crew" for their efforts that weekend. The infields were groomed before each game, there was a raffle with alot of really good prizes. There was shaggers for all the home runs and foul balls. There was a BBQ with food and drink available @ all times.

There may not have been alot of teams (alot going on in NorCal that Weekend) but with all their efforts that will change. I'd play again and will recomend this tournament to others.

thanks

Not sure about some of the other BLD fields but Manteca and Redding ( CA ) have allowed senior bats ie, Combats, Worths for years for senior events. I thought it was an issue with Miken.

Discussion: Local leagues testing bats

Some of the leagues I play in have long requird an ASA stamp but thats as far as it went. I have read some info concerning some possible testing of composite bats. Questions come up about who is doing the testing and if they are qualifyed. If it is a compression test how much damage is being done to the bat and after your bat passes what prevents the cheater from shaving his bat then. Unless you find a way to put the hologram on the end cap where it makes contact with the barrel.

Also; just played a tournament where the bats were furnished; two bats, 26 and 28 oz. handed out and collected for each game.

Yea-- a couple of years ago, but mine lasted a bit longer than 2 months. Mine did not break completey in two pieces but did end up in a 90 degree angle half way up the bat.

Discussion: one and one count

Agree with the 1 and 1 as long as we get the extra foul ball. Another thought-- In ISA, I believe or one of the rules In St.George You cannot get a courtesy runner after the 1st. pitch to the next batter. It forces you to be prepared to have the runners ready.

I have both- same weight 28oz. I believe its more the ball than anything else. When the temps. are cooler and thus the balls are "harder" I like using the combat, I feel the this bat is a little softer and drives the denser ball better. In turn the Ultra being,IMO, harder drives a "softer" ball better.
I have hit a few tape measures with both.

Lecak: they have been and were last year, homeruns are unlimited until the open inning and of course you can only score 5 until then.

I'm not sure of their processes, but I know that the bats will very alot in weight. To get the true weigth I've taken them to a postal outlet and had them weighted. I've had some off by an ounce or two.
