Discussion: Rule Changes - A New Thread

The rule change will increase the number of "CLASSIFIED" Major + teams but will they play without picking up players to help them compeat with the established Major + teams.
Maybe this is the plan along--- by forcing teams up they will need to add stronger players from other Major or AAA teams thus droping the numbers of those teams.
We've all seen the brackets for AAA, whole alot of teams compared to Major and Major + and by making it unatractive to play AAA if you have power.

I still can't help but wonder whom or who will be making the call as to what teams will be affected ( moved up ) and on what bases. Past performance ? or on rosters who no one ever seems to check or teams left alone because of who is on the roster.

We all love playing softball, some like myseft, like hitting a little more. Whats our recourse ? not play SS-USA ?
MAYBE ?

Salio2K: Are you able to make a compairson between the new Morphed and the Anti-Virus. With the new ASA bat testing wouldn't you want to stay away from newly certified bats ?
I used a Anti-Virus last year and ended up breaking two bats in the three ASA leagues during the week. Not much for durability.

Here's my 2 cents worth. Theres a reason there are to few Major + teams. I believe that there are a hand full of teams when entered will win just about any tournament. Teams who feel that have no chance against Major+ play Major, and the same goes for Major and AAA.
Teams who DECIDE to play with these new home run rules will poach other players, then making the weaker teams ( complared to Major + ) weaker.
I believe that not everyone playing Major will want to play Major + and AAA play Major. This to me seems that the lower divisions are going to be the sacrificial lambs for the Major + teams.
I agree that this will only increase the balls hit up the middle.
Limit the number of home runs as you will but leave the one up rule and allow them to be singles.
And finally-- who or whom decides who gets moved up.

Joe; Congrats on a well played tournament, it was great to be out there and you could not ask for better weather. It was a good weekend to end the year on and take care of that hammy.

Our team may not be going to Phx. after some of us have already made arrangements. My question is if given the chance could I play for someone else ?

I've played in a few SS-USA tournaments, but have not faced this situation. I know that your team is supposed to qualify, but I've seem fellow players on teams that normally don't play for that team during the year. I've mainly played NCSSA and you can add a couple guys most of the time.

Regardless of the fact that we have to play here, my issue is why. We were told of our field assignments and made hotel accmadations. Now we find out that we're across town and the originial fields were never avalibable to begin with. Sounds alot like the Cal. Cup. Being told we were either @ the Sac complex or Roseville when Roseville was never in the picture because they were not available.

So now were are looking at the prospects of being stuck @ a set of fields for hours between game with limited amenities. ( like the Cal Cup. ) At least The Sacramento Complex had a snack bar. Can we say the same for C.C.

I'm sure that issue is going to be explained as Safety first, and while I agree stances for player's safety are important. I can't help thinking there is collusion between the ASA and the bat manufacurers.

Discussion: Which one ?

I did the same thing last year. I needed to get another senior bat because the U-2 was not legal. I went with the Combat and stayed with the balanced because thats what the U-2 is. The only thing that I changed was the grip. Went with a thin Easton after market.( did not over lap the tape ) It made the handle alot thinner, more like the Ultra
