And like i said I'll hit .750 - .800 in leadoff spot and let the big boys swing for the fences.. Once in awhile I'll hit one out with my Psycho.. HR only counts if it clears the fence not how far it travels !!!! "Keep buyn them bats and they'll keep sellin them".. Sounds like it could be a movie.. Baaaahhaaaa !!! |

I went thru 4 Ultras last year and even broke a Reebok in 10 swings.. I swore off all senior bats and now swing a Miken Psycho DC that came with a 1 yr warranty..Either you want to hit HR's or you don't want to spend the money.. Whats the difference how far the ball travels as long as its hit hard and maybe goes over the fence once in awhile..I've learned to live with .750 - .800 hitn in tourn. and let the guys who are supposed to hit HRs with any bat do it..Cmon guys man up and play the game.. |

Very well run tourn and everything on time.. Also yinz guys ordered up the perfect softball weather from the softball gods..We traveled all the way there to win 2 games against the other Vegas team and now all we have to do is learn how to beat the other teams and we may win one of your tourn.. 8=). Duke, like you said."let's get back to playn some real softball" Couple yrs back I was an xtra on a major team that played a tourn. in Vegas.. Got to bat 2 or 3 times and I got stuck as a major player for 2 yrs..I didn't even know about this rule because I was pretty new to senior ball.. I only found out when i hooked on with a AAA team and SSUSA brought it to the coach's attention.. Lets just play ball.. Who knows how many years we have left to play.. We play with the kids and don't have to hear this.. |
| Nov. 1, 2011 VINNY LV | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: HOF Pitcher 1st time I played with Louie he had to be around 50.. our pitcher got killed 1st game of tourn and then my uncle(his best freind) put l Louie in to pitch and of course we made it tto Sun.(3rd place). Tourn. started Fri. nite.. I'm playn LF and LOuie keeps telln me move in, next thing I know I'm playn rite behind SS..Thing was that he knew what & where he was goig to pitch the Batters.. nothing was hit over my head the whole tourn. Hitman, Louie even looked like the Joker and that personality..Never did get to see him pitch earlier but my uncle (Harry Gratton) used to travel with them guys and he told me alot about Louie..He was a good man.. |
| Oct. 31, 2011 VINNY LV | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: HOF Pitcher HOF pitcher Louie DelMaestro passed away today in Pittsburgh PA.. Louie pitched for Jim's Sport Shop back in the 60's when they would win championships regularly.. I got to know Louie after his heyday and played a few tournaments in the Burgh with him as the pitcher.. What a character he was to play with.. I'm sure quite a few guys out there have played against/with Louie.. If you did please tell a story about him cause I know there's got to be plenty of them..I was just in the Burgh recently and asked a cousin about Louie and now I feel bad that I didn't get to see him one more time.. He will be missed.. |

They a pullover that street hockey goalies wear.. $35 and its lite weight, with padding in it and dri wick material to absorb sweat.. I got one and all the guys that seen it think it was a good idea.. I'm a pitcher thats been hit in the chest 3 times playn against youngnz and that ball comes back at ya quick & hard.. Also I'm 59 yrs old.. check it out you'll be glad you did.. |
