Always a pleasure to see you guys. Next time dont be so hard on us. For our third place finish even we recieved batting gloves. Thanks to Motown Stars for letting me be a part of their team.
Great to see all the OG guys both 50 and 60. Always get to see

Discussion: Whats the rule?

In senior ball game goes to extra innings the last batter the inning before starts at 2nd base. You cannot use a courtesy runner until he advances one base but can you sub for him with a player that hasnt previouly played in the game and if so could the player that was subbed for re-enter on defense?

I was asked this question tonight at the ball field and I had no answer but i think stick would know.

Discussion: What is Senior Softball to you?

I enjoy everything about senior ball. The competition all the people i've met from different areas and will meet, my team mates, umpires, visiting the different cities.
When I retire from senior ball I will miss the people and the comaraderie most. Softball is just a game its the people that make it special.

I for one am glad of RD. If not for r&d

I would be playing barefooted, barehanded(or tying rabbit fur to my hand)and hitting with a stick as I personally could not make a glove, bat or cleats.

Discussion: What's the thought on Heartland NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree great complex good balls. I thought the arch was a different twist also agree not organized and believe it would have been a lot different if Herb had some one to help before he had the stroke and not after.

Hope he is going to be alright as his health is more important than a disorganized tourney.

Hats off to all the people that helped and although it got confusing at times
I think they tried with what they were handed and it could have been worse they could have cancelled at the last minute and left us all hanging with reservations and some with plane tickets.

The umpires did a good job and I for one liked the 1.5 hr schelduling for games. I think all tourneys should use it to keep games on time.

Herb get well you will be in our prayers.

Discussion: ISA Gallatin TN

Corky,

I for one was glad to see that Jerry did not do away with the loser bracket because of the rain. When the rain came most people would have had to stay sat. nite any way. Even though it was 1 pitch both teams had the same rules and the same chance to win unlike if they had sent all the teams in the loser bracket home.

With the senior bats all the National tourneys should be played on 325' fences. Old days fences were 265 to 275 new bat and ball tech they went to 285 and 300'. Now its time with the new tech to go to bigger fields again. Maybe when they get to 400' the bat and ball manufactures will come back to reality.

Umpiring was very good and I agree for what ever reason the bottom diamonds needed work.Maybe the parks depatment can get it accomplished by next year.

I think they should be complimented on getting the tourney in. Thanks to all ISA men and women that had any part in helping with this tourney as we know you spent a lot of time to get it done.

I think the tournment was well run with the proper time limits, very good umpiring 70 foot bases fields nice could have been watered every third game or so they got pretty rough in the middle of the day.

I saw plenty of homeruns in the tourney so I and A133 must have been watching different games.

On the note of altered bats I believe there may have been some but I also believe there is about the same when senior bats are allowed. Whats wrong with hitting to all parts of the field?

I also saw a lot of great defense from outfielders and infielders that maybe we would not have got to see with the ultra or combats. The scores seemed to be in the high teens and twenties so I would say the bat and ball combo was pretty good.

Just my thoughts and congrats to all that participated as I saw a lot of old friends and meet new ones and that is what senior ball is really about.

Discussion: Ghost's of yesteryear.Where are you?

One of the teams Bobby Lorria pitched for was Lansing Glass and either him or his wife would scout the next team to play and chart pitches(location), what pitch the hitter hit or let go, where each hitter hit and keep a copy in his back pocket for reference.

He did some crazy things on the mound.
Run at hitters, talk to them, light his glove on fire, crazy hats, somersaults and on and on.
