Discussion: Hottest ASA bat for 2009

SLOBALL1
The 73v was last made by tps in 2004 and that is why they are so hard to find. I agree that they are not worth 250+ unless you play alot of ASA leagues. We got ours for $99.They do break if you use them alot especially in practice.

Discussion: Hottest ASA bat for 2009

Guys
The TPS Voltage once broken in around 1500-2000 swings you will see it is the best ASA bat out there. The 78V model is ng only the 73V is good.I know
people will say how come you need so many swings? If you can find one other than e-bay which they are selling for 250+ than you will not be disappointed.
My take and I use one!!

Great talking to you yesterday -I spoke
to one of our players in our league who recommends from sports Authority The Youth Baseball Shin Guard for around $29.00+. He is a big person and he said they will fit. They are durable and he has been hit hard a few times and they rose to the occasion in protecting him.The ones I use are plastic and I am weaning on buying what he told me.I am not sure my guards will do the job.Keep in touch!!

Remember if they make them we will come and buy!!There will always be some
company trying to outdo the other for the market share. The special bats will always be there whether you or anyone else likes it or not.It is the beast in us .

I do not think that anyone especially myself thinks we are tough !! We just express the opinion that the rules lately put in place will protect us.In essence it gives you a false sense of security that they will stay away from you because it is an out? They are wrong and we are seeing more injuries I believe lately. Our reactions can not keep up with the techology out there now.It is just too bad they we have to dress up in armour to pitch a game we love!!I wish I had the answers?

GUYS
Have we got slower as we age-probably-but with the bats nowadays it does not matter-The Miken and etc. have made a bad player better and a good player much better.I have seen people who say they have never hit a homerun in there life until they came to senior ball and used the new techology of bats out there. As long as we develop hot and hotter equipment to keep our egos alive somone will get hurt regardless on what we do.I am not saying it is bad
but do we really think we are getting stronger and better or is it the equipment? Try doing a wooden bat night in your league as we do at times!!A lot of guys have there egos busted. My take!!!

I have pitched for 40 years and have never wore even a cup but after having
complete knee replacement I wear a guard to protect the knee.I really do not want to get into masks and such as I feel the game is not the same!I got hit during the winter nationals in the hand when a ball was heading for my face and I stopped it. I thought my finger was broke but it was not. I know with the bats as hot as they are it is only a madman now you would not protect himself.I just feel that the protection takes away from the game that at our age we enjoy and love.I know the PPR rule is no help period !!

Find yourself a TPS Voltage 73V for ASA play. It is the best thing out!!
They may have it at Sports Authority in your area.

We should find a pitching machine and place it on the mound for both sides!
Has it come down to wearing armour to play the game ?The PPR rule is a joke and you can believe that fewer people will want to pitch!!

Discussion: Deleteing The PPR Rule

We all agree that lately we have heard of injuries caused by up the middle hitting pitchers etc.Take away the fences and hot bats and get back to playing defense alittle instead of having a stiff neck watching the bombs go out of the park. The PPR rule protects no one and it will stay. I would like to see a net placed in front of the pictcher but that will never happen!!We all know the problem greed from associations who care about making more money instead of letting us play ball.Just my take !!!

If you have any Sports Authority stores in Canada the 73v TPS voltage maybe available. That is the only store that sells them.TPS the MFG does not have any as my stopped making them in 2004.The 78 v is a piece of junk.If
you can find one once broken in for ASA
you will be very pleased.

Here in FHC the teams that put on the monthly tournaments need help from the complexes so that they can make money. The head and bed works but we play 2 days only with 4 games. Some of the national tournaments will give you a extra game to keep you there for longer.Taits you are right once you are there you will spend and sometimes you receive little for the support of that organization. Credit card companies love us!!

Thanks for the info. The only thing I enjoy with ASA Bats is when we play league during the week you can play defense instead of bombs going over the fence in our FHC monthly tournaments.Bring back the bomb bats and play on open fields without 270+ fences and such.Just dreaming!!

I heard that the ASA Model rip it is good for ASA ?We have alot of 73v voltage bats in our senior league in clearwater, fl.that we use, otherwise I do not know what the best for ASA is now. When they excluded the Freak it took alot away from ASA .

The 73v Voltage are going for 250.00+
on e-bay if you can find one. What once
wt. is the launch ? Do not trade for the 78 v model voltage as the diff. is that the 78 was made in china and they
duplicated the outside but not the inside shell.I will ask around if someone has a ASA bat other than the voltage to trade.I do not think you will find anyone who will trade 1 for 1 for the launch and give you the 73v.

It is the Old Head and Bed routine. It will never change. They make there money some from that. Some complexes will give you a discount on the fields if you book x alot of rooms for the tournament that you are putting on.
It would make sense to schedule real games instead of meaningless ones that make you stay longer. My opinion!!
