Joe, SSUSA did NOT cause this injury. I think you are way off base here! If you don't want to protect yourself then DON'T, but your comments here continue to pump up the Machismo in the younger guys [to their detrement] There is nothing wrong with wanting to be safe and if ones "image" is more important that ones life then ones priorities need a second look.

Unfortunately SSUSA is trying to make a buck off us staying at their "Special" hotels. I can understand the concept and have no problem with them getting a % of the take IF WE AS PLAYERS WERE ALSO BENEFITTING but we are not......

Plain and Simple.... Your crazy not to protect yourself. Technology gave us the bats, balls AND protective gear. Wait til you see someone get hit in the face [as I did]. I don't want to see it again....Ever

Just had a teammate bid $40 per night and got rooms at the Peppermill. Priceline is great!

My guess would be "MONEY". Somebody wants more, someone doesn't want to give it!

Atlantis and Peppermill are close to each other. THE PEPPERMILL IS NOT IN AN UNDESIREABLE AREA. In fact, it is one of the BEST if not THE best in Reno. Friendly staff, great food, absolutely awsome rooms. Feels like an upscale Vegas Strip Hotel. Downtown Reno, except for the Silver Legacy, is depressing. Too bad the SSUSA rates aren't special as advertised.

Again, thanks for the kind words. My players try to make our tourn. one of the best and most enjoyable of the yr. Maybe that's why I fill up every yr. It also looks like we made the right decision to cancel Sun. I'm glad you guys agree!
Scott, I found your knee pad.

Joe.
Good to see you playing again. Your division had some powerhouse teams. 5 Spot 50's, East Bay Oldies. Those young guys can play. Hope you were OK with the bracket I put you in.

Thanks for the comment. We tried to get the fields ready for Sun. Started at 5:30am and after the 3rd. downpour, realized we were fighting a loosing battle and finally had to give up. With players coming from as far away as 400 miles for our tourn.we try as hard as poss. Thanks to our So. Cal. friends for coming. [Fountain Valley Outlaws,So. Cal. Marauders]

Most of my team stays at the Peppermill, and the Sands. I alerted Dave to the fact that SSUSA quoted rates were substantially higher than regular rates.

I'm talking about the "special" rates we are supposed to get by going through SSUSA. My team was checking specifically for the upcoming Reno tourn. when we found the rates were NOT "special", they were higher. I informed Dave that we were being quoted higher rates going through them than if we just called on our own. He said he would have Fran check into this as this was not supposed to be happening, and let us know. I'm sure the correct rates will be coming soon.

Dave
Did you ever get an answer about the "recommended host hotel" rates being higher than the general or "rack" rates?
You mentioned that we should be getting cheaper not more EXPENSIVE rates. It would be best to let us all know via this board. Thanks

If Dirty were on the West Coast and played a lot of tourn. ball like the rest of the real players he would have the necessary experience to back up his goofy claims, but being he plays "weenie" ball and was cut by his Senior team, he should keep his opinions, of things he knows nothing about, to himself.

Amen to all of you. One over the fence should NEVER be an out. Especially at parks with 300' fences. This weekend in Pleasanton was great because ncssa gets it,[most of the time].
