Discussion: Half Swing/Bunts/Chops/Slow Swings and the CACA swing

I am a right handed batter. I must be an exception. My power is to Right-center to Right field. I always take a full swing. I am also an umpire. I have called players out for NOT taking a full swing. When I call them out, it is because in my opinion they PUSHED the ball to the right side. That is NOT a full swing

Discussion: Bat Testing Modification

In the words of TooOldToFight: "Well done SSUSA",As players we are extremely happy that you have realized the testing process was/is flawed. "GREAT JOB". Not to beat a dead horse. Hopefully you will revisit the use of Bat Warmers in games ONLY when the temp is 68° or under. ASA/USA and SSUSA cannot or will not show any proof that using a Bat Warmer has an affect on the compression of a bat. BUT THERE IS PROOF THAT BY USING A BAT WARMER DOES NOT CHANGE THE COMPRESSION OF A BAT. By using a bat warmer it does not alter a bat. PLEASE REVISIT!

Discussion: Rolled bats

I want to make it perfectly clear. I am NOT attaching any member of the SSUSA Staff. Just my opinion. I have been reading all the posts about Bat Warming, Bat Shaving, Bat Rolling and Compression Testing. Bat Warmers are not bad for the game. They protect the bats. COLD BALLS ARE MUCH WORST THAN BAT WARMING. Bat Shaving is NO GOOD, Bat ROLLING give or take. All it does is break in your bat faster. Where I play in the south Bat Rolling is allowed. That means it will break faster and the Bat Companies will do more business. I agree if a Bat falls under the 140 test margin the bat should be removed from the game. But if we do NOT know what the compression is, why are players be suspended? If SSUSA is not going to test every single player they should not test any player. I do not know how many players there are in SSUSA, but I'm guessing over 15K. I know some teams were tested twice at Worlds last year while other teams were not even looked at. That's NOT fair. I know the Compression Testers are expensive. But if you do not have enough of them to be able to test everyone, you should not test anyone. Mr.Hennessy is the MAJORITY owner of SSUSA. I want to know if HIS Bats are being tested too? Also, what happens if his bat fails? We will never know.

Discussion: Westerns National Championship

Sorry Guys, I did not mean for my post to start a uproar. I read the post that WOODY22 posted. It made me think. I went back to read it again and it was gone. I have a few questions for SSUSA. Why was his post removed? Was there a word that was not true? Isn't this site for players to voice their opinions and ask questions? I think it's called FREEDOM of SPEECH.
As you know, I stopped playing due to the UNFAIRNESS in the Major brackets. I watched some of the games at Westerns. There were quite a few good and balanced games being played. But, the Majority of them were in 65 AAA Bracket. With all the fuss about Cal Energy, I decided to watch some of their games. Cal Energy DESTROYED teams. I did see them lose on Thursday morning and get knocked out of the Tournament. I asked one player on Cal Energy a question after the game. With you guys beating the crap out of teams, why did they play curtain players out of position? I was told it was because they had to play 4 games that day. They wanted to rest some of their guys. It is quite obvious. It BACKFIRED. They also said that they were all nothing games because the automatically Won Westerns. Now, with a straight face, you tell me that was fair.

Tim, I agree with part of what your are saying. Why can't Cal Energy and Timerworks play every team in their bracket, then play against each other? Yes, Timberworks is a much older team. Cal Energy could give them 5 maybe 7 runs. Win or lose both teams will enter Worlds looking to become Triple Crown winners. This way Bracket play will be the 4 teams of the same level playing against each other. This way, the final 2 teams will be playing for the opportunity to win the triple crown. If there is 1 Major + team and 1 Major team at the end, that game is meaningless. Both advance looking to win the triple crown.

Discussion: Westerns National Championship

I am NO LONGER a Tournament player. I can still play. I'm 72 and tired of the BS. I have noticed that SSUSA is NOT getting as many teams as they did in the past for certain tournaments. Here is why I think it is happening. Over the past few months, I have noticed how players are complaining on the message Board about how the Brackets are so unfair. I just looked at the 70 Major Bracket for Westerns in Sacramento starting July 30th. I am no longer playing because I am tired of playing against teams like Timberworks in seeding games. Please do not get me wrong. Timberworks deserves their Rankings. They worked hard for it over the years. It is NOT Timberworks fault. But,I noticed in the Bracket this year, Only 2 Teams play against them in seeding games. TOTALLY UNFAIR. Why aren't they playing against ALL the Teams in the bracket? The teams they do play are most likely going to be the bottom 2 seeds for Bracket play. Those 2 teams will fight it out to see who plays the number one seeded team. Most likely it will be TIMBERWORKS, again. We all know what the outcome will probably be.
I just looked at other brackets. I noticed the exact same thing in the 65 Major Bracket. Why ISN'T Cal Energy playing ALL four teams in the Bracket? Another TOTALLY UNFAIR BRACKET. I looked at the Southwest Championship bracket from this year. All the teams played at least one of the 65 Major Plus teams. It may not have been the same team, but they played one.
I just looked at the Bracket for Rock n Reno for this year. They made the bracket FAIR by having the Major Plus Teams play ALL the other teams in the bracket. Senior Softball can not say it can not be done or it doesn't work. IT HAS BEEN DONE, AND IT DID WORK.
For the hell of it, I just looked at the Eastern National Championship Bracket. They have more teams and they seemed to make it work. 3 seeding games. One team because they have an odd number plays 4 seeding games. The East Coast seems to have their Sh*t together. IT CAN BE DONE. All players want is a level playing field.

Am I wrong for thinking this way and that there needs to be changes?
