Jim,Ridge called for my stats & scores for the last four SPA tournaments today. We won two of the four SPA tournaments played this year & only by one run in Pensacola. I have four outstanding ball players that our 67 or older on my team playing down one division which is allowed. All games played with SPA this year there was only one blow out which was our last game.Winning our first double elemination game in Maretta by two runs & along with the the high temperture assisted us to win the Maretta tournament. And also for the record the other two winners of the four SPA tournaments was Naples Heat,Pensacola Winter Nat. & Senior Moments in Montgomery AL which beat us 22 to 9.

Shelby,we our now even for the year, three wins each against each other in 2010. And don't forget how you took us to the shed in Montgomery,AL SPA tournament.Like yourselves we only beat Georgia,Alabama Masters by one run,& your team by only two runs on the first game of the double elemination.I hope Ridge has the foresight to match up teams from different geographic locations for the round robin games.

Thanks for the reply JohnBob,we have already commited to the Pensacola tournament. They just e-mailed me with our acceptance letter which included 38 teams in the tournament. Pensacola puts on one great tournament but teams like ourselves are tired of playing the same teams year after year.We did not attend the TOC in february but play in two tournaments already this year. You might want to attend the USSSA tournament being put on by the "Monstor" on 6/17/10 in Tunica,MS. Several B'Ham teams plan on attending including the Wild Bunch.

Our 60 Major team was going to attend but learn a good lesson on new SPA tournaments. We as a team love to see new tournaments because it allows you to play other teams that our located geographicaly that you would never play until the nationals. The problem with the newly added SPA tournaments they are on the same date of the more establish SPA tournaments. For example the Fort Knox tournament is being held on the same date of the Pensacola tournament. The lesson we learned was the previous tournament in Gallatin,TN which was on the same date of the Agusta tournament. By the time the Gallatin tournament was canceled it was to late to sign up for the Agusta tournament. The majority of my team wanted to go to Fort Knox but decided against it due to what happen with the Gallatin Tournament.

Great job Steve, looking forward to next year, having the conession stand open was helpful, especialy with the wifes & grand childern that attended. The round robin we play in was very competitive. It was exciteing to win our last two games with a deficit of eight & twelve runs during the last ending. Its been a while since I expierence making up that big of a deficit with last bats at the plate.

This Quote go's back to the 60's which many Marines had engraved into their Zippo Lighter in VietNam."If I Die Burry me face down so the hole world can kiss my Ass" Even though I too had this engraved on my Zippo,my beliefs & attitude has done a 360 degree turn over the past 42 years.

Bruce, the majority played 3A for 2009,but I recruited on the top end from two different 3A teams & a few 65 year old Major plus players that can drop down one age group & not force us to play Major Plus. The answer is yes,on paper only for now.Our first tournament will be March 1,2010 in B'Ham two weeks prior to the SPA Montgomery tournament.

You can be on Two rosters if your playing down in the lower age group. Example,a 55 year old can be on a 50's roster & a 55's roster also.

Yes,And you can ask for a release up to June 15 but they don't have to release you. For a coach to add new names to their roster theirs a $35.00 fee. Thats why its critical to max out all your 20 names allowed on your SPA roster.
